Kagi is now beginning development for Orion on Linux! It's a webkit based browser, which isn't everyone's cup of tea, but I am ecstatic to see something other than another freaking Chromium browser!

Okay, I think I like where this is going. I don't usually enjoy apps "ported" from other platforms, specially from macos, since I feel them like windows to those platforms, but this could be a good thing nevertheless, nice!

WebKit was originally a fork of KDE's KHTML and K JavaScript. So technically it's a return to Linux at least.

EDIT: GitHub page

It's also not fully open source, but on the FAQ page for Orion there is a mention that they are working on it!

I use it on my iPad. It’s like Safari but on steroids. You can install Chrome and Firefox extensions. I’m hopeful it will become open-source in the future.

Orion is a browser, for those who also had never heard of it.

Ohhhh now this is actually pretty cool. I was disappointed they were doing it for MacOS, but I will definitely give it a try on Linux.

I like their search engine just fine.

Same here. I am just so happy to see something different in the browser space. Couldn't come at a better time!

Not using any browser that isn't open source.
