Excellent adaptation from the short story, to be honest. Haven't seen it since like 2002 or 3, but I remember it being pretty damn book accurate.

I love it. I saw it on tv back when it aired, and it scared the hell out of me. I watched it again in the late 2000s and I still thought it was great.

I watched it a couple years ago with my partner and she just glares at me when I bring it up.
