Nina: But you HAVE to come! I'm making my secret punch.

Maya: What? Vodka and food coloring?

Nina: Who told you?!

Had to hand-craft this GIF from my DVD box set as there is a massive lack of JSM! gifs on the internet.

Side note: Vodka and food coloring is pretty much how I mix my drinks these days

This was a few years before Ally McBeal propelled her into stardom.

I would say a great deal of my TV nostalgia is for the 90s, however I do frequently have an overlap with the latter half of the 80s. It obviously isn't exactly appropriate for this community.

Is there any interest in my creating an 80s TV sister community?

Anyone remember this old ad?

Carter "stole" a Game Gear from a hemophiliac, to try to cheer up a young cancer patient. They are going to have a Mortal Kombat competition, with the young patient wanting to be Johnny Cage.

Honestly, I just thought it was cool to see a Sega Game Gear make a TV appearance. I miss this kind of stuff.

I'd typically just say that his character Doug Ross is a douche, but deep down inside I kind of feel like the character is somewhat of a window into an additionally douchey young Clooney.

Eriq La Salle's character Peter is a jerk, but you can tell it's character design. With Doug, you're definitely left wondering.

I watch A LOT of TV...

I've test ran a handful of free fonts for my subtitles, and Tiresias Infofont Z so far is definitely my favorite.

Included below is (part of) my mpv configuration, that really makes the font pop. My vision is quite poor without my glasses, but I can read these very well without them.

sub-blur = 0.3
sub-border-color = 0.0/0.0/0.0/0.8
sub-border-size = 2.5
sub-color = '#FDFD9A'
sub-font = Tiresias Infofont Z
sub-font-size = 42
sub-margin-x = 100
sub-margin-y = 50
sub-shadow-color = 0.0/0.0/0.0/0.25
sub-shadow-offset = 0

I'm 4 episodes into S01, and I take back what I said in my last post about it not being as good as I remember. It's excellent, and a really great evening winding down watch.

I'm taking a break from some other 90s shows I'm actively watching through season by season.

Started watching S01 of this tonight. It's not as spectacular as I remember, likely because it's been cloned to death since then. Hopefully the season picks up.

I've been casually watching S01 this week. It's still pretty dang funny, and I find all the major characters enjoyable.
