Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

Where do the republican moron traitors think their tech and medicines come from?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Now I am wondering what one of those idiots would say if you told them ivermectin was made by scientists. 🤔

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

They know, but they can afford going abroad for treatment if needed, so they don't give a fuck.

Nah, I mean Billy Bob and his ~~clan~~ klan.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (2 children)

They think its hurting them or controlling them and thats why they use codliver oil and witchhazel.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago

Right, alternative medicine. To quote Tim Minchin, "Do you know what they call 'alternative medicine' that has been proved to work?" Medicine."

Don't forget the vitamin A. That's the new wonder drug for the MAGA crowd. RFK is telling them that it will cure measles.

I was at one of the local rallies. I think the organizers also know that this event alone won't be effective & is only the beginning; there will be more to come. A lot more if (and most likely, when) the administration doesn't comply with the demands.

Fun fact... My local rally literally featured a startup founder who scaled their company & attracted investors using NIH funding as seed money, and a community college student from a nearby red state. I would imagine that even the most die-hard traditional conservatives would find such stories inspiring/good use of tax payer money... Science support has traditionally been bipartisan too.

Again, if they don't comply, more actions would come

Someone on my Facebook posted a video with cherry picked facts to make Russia look like the good guy over the war with Ukraine. That’s an easily verifiable history. People are dumb.

[–] [email protected] 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Russia is the bad guy. Was that a typo?

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, I’ve edited it. Thank you.

I’m sure many people who are science deniers will point to “the Bible” for facts. Try to quiz them on things in that book, I am sure they couldn’t answer a single question.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That’ll totally teach the people who completely ignore all science always a huge lesson.

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Other than vote what else would you suggest these people do? Just sit back and wait for shit to get worse? At least they are out there doing SOMETHING.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Yes, and I’m sure that “doing something” makes them feel better. But it’s not gonna change a damn thing.

If I knew what would change a damn thing, I’d be doing it too. So, aside from wasting time in useless protests that the Trump administration is absolutely going to ignore, do you have some magic spell that can cause them to change their mind? Because protests aren’t gonna do it. Petitions aren’t gonna do it. Hell, someone trying to shoot Trump twice didn’t do it.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

What do you propose as a solution? Just curious.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Not the guy you were talking to, but what I propose is on the one hand, donate and volunteer to campaigns targeting the 2026 midterms. Especially ones that can primary centrist or complement Democrat incumbents, but still win the general election. The Democratic party needs more firebrands right now.

On the other hand, in case our fears are true and we simply don't have any more fair elections, I suggest concurrently joining your local Socialist Rifle Association and making plans for resistance outside the bounds of the system. Take a first aid class, get your cardio going, become familiar with Signal, Tor, and other ways of covert communication. Save money. Make a bugout bag and get a plan to leave asap if necessary.

“try harder” or “arm for revolution”…. stellar choices we have

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

What other choices could there be? Join the fascists?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

it’s not my job to think for you

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's your job to think for you. And it looks like you're on strike.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (2 children)

do I have to do all of your thinking for you?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

You sure have a lot of opinions on what not to do.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I enjoy the fact that hurts you. Please, provide me more opportunities to cause you pain.

Or you could just stop talking. Are you capable of that?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Ha! Not sure what gave you the idea that your dumb words and thoughts hurt me in the least.

Are you capable of empathizing with others? All signs point to no.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Thanks for proving my point

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Anytime! I will be here when you need me!

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Just having a conversation. You know, the entire point of platforms like this. But I guess shutting down the coversation is cool too.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

If all of your “conversations “are trolling arguments, I pity anyone who has contact with you.
