Plus most games corral the player into a single track, where being "bad" just means you're a meanie.
I used to roll with a guy who did 7 years for killing his brother. Came home from work sick and found his brother slamming his wife he grabbed a bat and swung... good dude to kick it with but yeah, knowing dude has that on his record can be a bit of a damper.
