I haven't played Minecraft since 2015, but I get the feeling I might again in the new few years as I wanna find new hobbies. I know that game has changed a whole lot but I don't have any official online data on it.

I've had this Microsoft account for over a decade and its probably full of personal information that I wanna let go of, I've already exported all my data. I would need to pay $30 for another copy of Minecraft, same price I paid in 2013. I just did a bunch of searching and its not possible to transfer my Minecraft license to another account.

Have you tried Minetest/Luanti with MineClone2/VoxelLibre?

Look up "Luanti" as an alternative. Free game, better engine.

I would be mindful of the security aspects. It isn't bad but the connection is unencrypted and vulnerable to man in the middle attacks.

If I were you, I would just shutter everything about the account except for the Minecraft license. Especially because, if you create a new account to play Minecraft, Microsoft is eventually going to ask you to provide identifying information like a phone number anyway. (At least, this has been my experience.)

I don't think there's the best answer here, but that's what I would do.

I would like to mention that cracking minecraft still works great, and I doubt that will change anytime soon. You really won't miss alot if you delete it, but you are throwing away money.
