The following accounts appear to be astro-turf puppets, used for synchronized voting. Created about 2 years ago with no, or very low activity.

The pattern of Name+Number appears to be the preference

There are definitely others, neoliberal/Democrat defenders who will drag you into endless circular arguments

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

At least they generate content to engage with. The downvote bots just chill participation in Lemmy

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Ugh I'd rather have fewer neoliberals than more Lemmy content. They're tiresome

Ok, I see you are not talking about astroturfing. I'm sorry people on Lemmy disagree with you, but that is actually healthy for Lemmy to grow.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Yes it's astroturfing

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Yeah bud, it’s healthy discussing opposing view points with the right leaning. Echo chambers are not healthy and you should always look to expand your own views and understanding through discussion.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

True, but what do neoliberals have to do with that?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Neoliberalism is a constricting view

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I mean the same can be said about most right wing view points from my perspective but that does not mean I stop trying to see their view points in order to better inform myself and further strengthen my own understanding about why I choose to believe what I do.

Neoliberalism IS a right-wing point of view

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Yes, I know that. It’s the view point of essentially free-markets and deregulating. I am just saying there is no point in blocking the right wingers because bringing their views to light and by questioning them as well challenging their view points is the better play then sticking ourselves into an echo chamber.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Ah I gotcha. I mean, yeah, I broadly agree with you

interesting....

All of the above LW accounts have been self deleted, except the last one.

AND Allukathecutie7725@LW upvoted this post, and then made a new account allukathecutie7725@blahaj. Just to be crystal clear the new account was created AFTER this post was made.

I suppose that is as close to a confirmation as can be expected.

They left their non LW accounts still up (from the original post)

@[email protected] You might want to checkout two of the above accounts for being part of a astroturf ring on your instance

[–] [email protected] 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Those five accounts were self-deleted within 2 hours of you making this post. Somebody noticed that you caught onto them.

I briefly looked into the remaining accounts you mentioned. Their voting patterns look very similar, but I'm not convinced they are colluding. It's easy to imagine multiple users having similar opinions.

Thanks for checking it out!
