Didn't Gil get rich selling shoes? I swear I remember him saying "You won't have ol' Gil to kick around anymore, because Gil's kicking back! With kicks!"

And then got on a train, and presumably never saw him again. I can't confirm. I've seen the first 10 seasons of the simpsons. After that it gets a bit iffy.
