Funny enough, for Romans, the public latrines were very much a place of socialization! What better way to bond with your fellow man than a few games of tic-tac-toe over a mutual case of constipation?
So where does the sewage go?
Typically it'd be channeled out to a cesspool or simply into the local river.
So they used moss as TP? That seems reasonable enough
Maybe farting in public would be more accepted today, if we would still see each other eye to eye when droping the big loads.
I read "Water Gutter" as "Warr Guitar" , but it's still on brand.
And you'd wipe your ass with a shared sponge on a stick that lay in a bucket on vinegar.
Oh or moss, apparently, according to the image. But good luck replenishing moss at that rate.
