Saw this at a friend's house and thought it looked pretty gnarly. I think it's a Buddhist statue or Karura/Garuda but I'm am entirely not sure.

Looks Indonesian to me. After a quick search it seems to be indeed Indonesian. Might be Garuda, a mythical bird from Indonesian mythology, originated from Hindu.
I'm pretty sure it's Garuda. Not sure what country tho.
This divine creature is mentioned in the Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain faiths.
Badass 'got my freaky outfit on, took my drugs, and I'm ready to go to the RAVE' Garuda. In a good way.
I don't see anything Buddhist about it. Looks Indonesian.
I think its Garuda just by comparison to other statues
Not an expert in Eastern religions, but it looks more like Shinto or even Hindu than Buddhist.
