After testing got underway in January, Gboard is now widely rolling out Undo and Redo buttons/shortcuts on Android...

Just say no to keyboards that need to phone home.

Or use Apps like Netguard if you can't use such an OS.

I recently switched to FUTO keyboard, which works great.

Yes, it has the undo/redo. And also dedicated 'mark all', 'copy', 'cut', 'paste' as well as shortcuts built into the letters (hold c for copy, v for paste, etc.). Arrow keys as well! Also some other features, and swipe typing.

Only downside is that the swiping is not as acurate as gboard, but it well worth it, in terms of privacy and choosing/supporting an independent alternative.

The swipe database is not trained to the same extent as gboard. You can contribute swipe typing data at https://swipe.futo.org/ to help prove it for futo users.

I can never use another keyboard after discovering the hold to copy and stuff, it's so natural, and I'm so glad that I'm stuck on a FOSS keyboard that's owned by a company I respect.

WHAT! I never would have found this myself.

Gboard is such a good keyboard it's such a shame it's made by Google

Thanks. I hate it.

I have the next word suggestions option turned off. Previously I would see a question mark, exclamation mark and semicolon in the top strip. Now, with this new feature I get only the undo box (if my last word was autocorrected) and I now have to backspace and push and hold the M key to get a question mark.

I can't figure out how to remove the option, so now I'm looking at replacement keyboards.

I recommend heliboard.
