Why share this without the original context?

It was something like

"You learn how to time travel and go to see Jesus speaking in ancient Aramaic and he turns to you and in perfect English says 'Go home. Now.'"

I'd love a variation where a time traveller goes back to see Jesus and can't find them. So they start asking around... "Jesus of Nazareth? No? Sermon on the mount? 'Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God'? Ring any bells? Come on! Raised Lazarus from the dead? Loaves and fishes?"

And in so doing, generates the Jesus myth...

There is a philip k dick short story called 'the skull' about a time traveler sent back in time to kill Jesus that was very interesting.

I guess we're supposed to recognize the circuitry on that one person in the robe and just assume they're a time traveler.

Vorlons primed all the young races to recognize them as deities. When Kosh saved Sheridan from going splat, they all saw a different deity from the own culture. (Though londo said he didn’t see anything, he might have been lying.)

also genetically manipulated some races to produce telepaths; Vorlons are basically cantankerous assholes.

I actually did pick this up after a minute or two.

Sorry, I didn't know there was a context.

The spice must flow.

Because lots of white Christians find it easier to hang onto cultural racism than to fully process the implications of worshipping a Jew from the Middle East who would not have looked much like themselves.

[–] rayquetzalcoatl@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Might just be a stylistic choice tbf

What does cultural racism have to do with blue eyes? Are you saying that people from middle east could not have had blue eyes ?

[–] Karl@programming.dev 10 points 4 days ago

Idk. But they're kinda cool.
