This is the first I've heard of it, but github page clearly shows commits in the last two weeks, so it's not dead.
The Sims
A community based around all things related to The Sims.
This includes:

Mainline games (ex. The Sims 2)

Spin-offs (ex. The Sims Bustin' Out)

Unique console releases (ex. The Wii version of The Sims 3)

Mods and other fan-made content (ex. fan art)

The Sims-like games/competing life simulators (Tiny Life, Paralives, Vivaland, and inZOI are in-development games I am aware of)

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't go digging through the commits myself. I read in a few places that updates were exclusively about updating the FreeSO version rather than actual Simitone specific developments.
It does seem like it's lost a significant amount of momentum since 2019 though and according to posts on Bluesky some individuals have stopped contributing after FreeSO ended.
It might not be dead but I'd say it's pretty deep in limbo.
