I think something this article missed is that the autism awareness tattoo, while looking absolutely nothing like a gang tattoo, does very much look like a pride tattoo, and we know these people are not only targeting immigrants (or people who look like immigrants) but also trans and the LGBTQ+ community at large.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

would not be surprised if they started targeting autists though. be safe out there.

I don't see any pictures of the tattoo in the article. For anyone curious, this video shows the tattoo at about 2:15.

It's a colorful, twisted ribbon made of puzzle pieces. The name of his 15 year old brother, who has autism, is on the tattoo.

I cropped out the screenshot here:

Jesus fucking Christ.

Obviously it's the rainbow. They thought it was an LGBTQ+ thing.

Yeaah, they knew that wasn't a gang tattoo.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 2 days ago

Too colorful for the Magats, looks too close to a pride flag for their comfort.

Doesn't hegseth have worse tattoos?

[–] [email protected] 61 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Hegseth has white supremacist tattoos. Those are approved of.

"~~approved of.~~"
Encouraged.

I wouldn't be surprised to find that they knew and did it anyway.

Useless headline

They are doing mass deportations so there will always be cases like this.

[–] [email protected] 41 points 3 days ago

This comment is too dismissive. It shouldn't be about "oh well everyone's getting slain" - it's hard to reach 360 million people barely surviving the week and their own personal struggles like being able to afford food, while also living in a soon-to-be Nazi hellscape. If one particular story about one particular person or group triggers people into action, it is good.

The orphan crushing machine apologist

Have you seen the prisons that they put these people in. Technically they aren't prisoners but they are packed in and not allowed to leave.

Creating lots of click bait doesn't do anything

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 days ago

This isn't click bait, it's informative for people who may not necessarily have been aware of the extent of this.

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 days ago

They're not just deporting them. They're sending them to an overseas black site prison notorious for crimes against humanity, including torture.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

On the contrary. They can hide this kind of thing in the numbers. Reporting on egregious individual cases has a chance to heighten awareness.

I like how in Denver they made ICE look like a bunch of idiots.

They went to raid a apartment building and it was totally empty

[–] [email protected] 10 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Useless comment. They're illegally doing mass deportations which causes cases like this. If they didn't break the constitution and listened to the court order this wouldn't have happened. The criminals would be deported after a trial. The fact maga is excusing this shows how despicable they truly are. If any Democrat ignored a court order you all would be beating police officers in the streets with flag poles, and trying to drag the vp to the gallows.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 days ago

The fact maga is excusing this shows how despicable they truly are.

There's a sentence that works for many contexts.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Useless comment.

I disagree, his comment made it obvious that I should block him.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

Yep, plonk.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 days ago

You are misunderstanding

I'm not supporting mass deportation as that's a huge human rights violation. All I'm saying is that click bait articles rarely do anything long term.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

No there won't.

Source: Bush didn't do this

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 days ago

mass deportations

that is the problem. Deport as much mass as possible. Guidance around "deportation of criminals" can mean more "mass" if defined as any objectionable/unknown tattoo, instead of a narrower mandate of specific known gang affiliation tattoos. That would still be a problem in that a tattoo is not a criminal conviction.

He wasn't just deported. He was deported without due process to a slave labor camp.

This is going exactly like the Holocaust.
