RULES

  1. Be respectful: no harassment, hate speech, bigotry, and/or trolling.
  2. Encourage conversation in your OP. This means including heavily implicative subject matter when you can and also engaging in your thread when possible.
  3. Avoid controversial topics (e.g. politics or societal debates).
  4. Stay calm: Don’t post angry or to vent or complain. We are a place where everyone can forget about their everyday or not so everyday worries for a moment. Venting, complaining, or posting from a place of anger or resentment doesn't fit the atmosphere we try to foster at all. Feel free to post those on [email protected]
  5. Keep it clean and SFW
  6. No solicitation such as ads, promotional content, spam, surveys etc.

Is everyone in your workplace in agreement? If so you're lucky

I have fought hard to get a job I get to think and do science to help people, fascists and conservatives don't give a shit about science, thinking or helping people... which is why they want to get rid of us.

It isn't a homogenous group, but it is very clear who wants to hurt us and it is scary because frankly, the average USian is pretty much ok with it or thinks important things and expertise can be rebuilt in a day if they are "accidentally" slashed, destroyed and spit on.

We are in agreement in the sense that a bunch of people screaming in a runaway train hurtling off a cliff are in perfect agreement about how they feel.

Really thankful I have a WFH job and don’t ever have to listen to water cooler talk.

Do you ever miss the office?

Every once in a while but not very often! I’ve never been someone who gets too social with their coworkers.
