Should be a reason to post more often, tbh
It’s always fun to find those (Is my kid [problem]?) books in a parent’s library later in life. Mostly because it’s never (Am I effectively helping my kid or actively worsening a problem?) books because parents didn’t seem to consider their own roles and effects in childrearing, and kinda quietly implies you can easily force your kid to be compliant with your expectations. Especially older books.
The book is about children with dyslexia.

It did not help her at all. Only thing that actually helped was the right depression meds after trying so many for like 12 years.

What’s wrong with that book? If I ever had kids (God forbid), I’d read such a book to get ahead in the mess I’ve created for myself.
How else are you supposed to learn?
It very clearly advocates for and instructs people in child abuse.

it was funnier back when the post title was something like, 'i'm 43 and i juus found this on my mom's bookshelf'.
At that age you might have undiagnosed ADHD or autism. As a child you were just special or different and now you have a lifetime of coping mechanisms and masking techniques.
oh, it's diagnosed you tool. what about yours?
Never been diagnosed but people with ADHD tell me I probably have it too.
