Using Ai in the old sense and not LLM.
What's the old sense? A program? "AI" didn't exist in the old days and it doesn't exist now.
The logic here is like 3 lines of code maybe? The ubiquity of "AI" grifting has made language meaningless.
In the sense that the enemies in the first Doom had "AI".
"AI" has existed since the 70s in terms of computing. In terms of the theory, much further back.
It was actually the 50s, commonly attributed to John McCarthy.

Yeah, AI was totally never used to describe the logic behind NPC actions as far back as the Atari days.

And ai is commonly used as a catchall term for any program doing some kind of automation.
I really dislike his strange need to pollute the leaderboards with his bot records. The blacklist is there because people like him...
Is it really "pollution" though if their anti-bot system worked exactly as intended and restored the leaderboard to its previous state within mere seconds?
It didn't work, but as I said, he really wanted to pollute it.
This is not AI, just simple logic. This is how it should be done, and not with "AI". I hope young coders don't confuse logic with machine learning.
AI in the computation sense can refer to any system that appears intelligent. This includes simple logic. It seems to be you that is confusing AI with Machine Learning.
This is a garbage, subjective, pseudo-scientific definition.
And even if I entertain this nonsense, what kind of fool thinks that a minesweeper solver is "intelligent"?

AI as a field goes back to the 50s, long before any concept of machine learning, or what 'intelligence' was possible for a computer to achieve.
Please do and report back. There's a significant difference between following manually coded instructions and 'intelligence'.
Nope, thermostat (yes, that thing that has one "if temperature < XX, turn on heater) is literally considered an intelligent agent, as defined by the actual field of Artificial Intelligence, it's one of the first examples taught on the most basic of courses.
You should really go do your homework about absolute basics of AI field before insulting random people that at least have a semblance of knowledge about the field, other than "AI hype, AI cool".
People like you are insulting the whole field of Artificial Inteligence, so please stop spreading bullshit about it before you get good (or at the very least, don't be a dick about it, when people try to educate you). You probably had no idea the field even exists two years ago.

Literally yes. Thermostat (yes, the thing that turns your heater on if temperature is lower than XX) is considered an inteligent agent in the field of artifical inteligence.
The fact that you have a bunch of techbros who have no idea about what the field is about and are hyping the words because they sound cool changes nothing about it being a regular established academic field.

Just break it down logically,
Would you consider something capable of playing minesweeper intelligent? (ie do you think it has a higher level of understanding than pure random chance?)
Do you consider software running on a manufactured silicon chip natural or artificial?
"AI" has been a very common and very old term used in video games to refer to NPCs that react to player behaviour. It's also sometimes used to refer to bots that emulate player logic to play a game, such as in this CB video.
