I'm sure to a lot of people this fact is no surprise, but from my neck of the woods I haven't even heard of this stuff.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.
That's it.
Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.
Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-TIL posts using the [META] tag on your post title.
Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.
If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.
Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

It's actually not very popular, but there's this one guy in some rural town in China....
Baiiju Georg is an outlier and should not be counted.
Baijiu Georg is a statistical anomaly
When I visited one part of China I was looking for a big bottle of water to keep in my hotel room and went to the local store. I found a big 5L plastic bottle but when I looked at the label I realised it was Baijiu, not water. Something like 57% ABV, and it cost the equivalent of a few US dollars.
Baiju is so disgusting.
That word sounds both foreign and vaguely racist, and I'm a little afraid to find out why.
It's Chinese white alcohol with a fairly high alcohol content. The word itself is literally just the pinyin (aka the way to write Chinese words using an English keyboard) written out.
So "Bai" is white and "jiu" is alcohol.
lol, so I don't think there's any racist connotation to it, although it can seem that way.
It’s what my Chinese coworkers called it when i worked in china so no
rice wine.... 🤢
Go drink a Soju
