It's a little weird that they write it as "Billie Eilish's brother Finneas". Isn't he a fairly well-known musician on his own?

[–] [email protected] 51 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Yes, but not at the same level for the average person that doesn't pay attention. Billie Eilish's name will get more people to look. That's what headlines do.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 weeks ago

To confirm as someone far outside their demographic: I had never heard his music or his name until now. To be fair, I haven't listened to her music either, but I've obviously seen the name in other headlines.

I didn't know he was her brother, but man do I not care

This usually only happens to women. True feminist moment.

I don’t know him as a musician. I thought he was a producer?

[–] [email protected] 11 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

afaik he wrote and produced all her songs. she "just" sings over them.

She writes the lyrics.
He makes the music, with her input.

All producers are musicians.
Not all musicians are producers.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

Sorry I used producer because I don’t know of any releases under him. It could also be that I don’t know any of his aliases

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 weeks ago

Not nearly as much as Billie, no.

They're the bad guy... Duh.

As a musician, I'm thrilled. Fuck you, uncle Sam. Your voice doesn't hold a candle to what we have to say. We will turn your children against you. Eat a dick.

Goofy looking vibes in the eilish family but not so weird I'd use tear gas, personally.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Oh no, well… I guess I’m upset now. Not FINNEAS!!! 🙄

You can roll your eyes, but this is how you get the attention of "normies."

Even back during Vietnam, they had Jane Fonda and shit.

This isn't for you. Let them cook.

I am continuously disappointed by my mainstream coworkers. They just don't know stuff from history, and they don't seem to care. They seem incurious. Not knowing stuff is fine- none of us know everything. But the lack of curiosity and willingness to engage is disappointing.

Like I mentioned the kent state massacre and they were like, blank stare, topic change.

Of course, they probably think I'm an insufferable killjoy because I keep talking about injustice and stuff. Can't we all just talk about the iphone?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I don’t see any normies around here

[–] [email protected] 9 points 2 weeks ago

I thought you were lamenting the existence of this article, not the fact that it was posted here.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 week ago

Everyone is someone's normie.
