Why is a foreign government playing any role in any US elections is always the question we should be asking.

The headline is poorly worded. The article is about how the Israel-Palestine conflict is playing heavily into the mayoral race, and how New York voters care a lot about candidates' positions on it.

That's a much better headline.

If Zohran wins this election I'll have some hope left for the US.

Edit - guess there is some hope left afterall

Let's see, racist rapist or guy who cares about locals? It's not a hard choice, unless you're a racist or rapist.

There are more than two choices in this race. Mandani is a good choice but there are others who would be good too.

Yes hence why ranked choice voting is important, you can pick your best to least interested candidates and that will increase the chance of getting someone you would have preferred without having to reduce it down to a binary choice between 2 candidates

“There is a mayoral primary coming up this week where one of the candidates does not believe ~~the Jewish state~~ any Palestinian has a right to exist,” said Sam Sutton, the senator from Brooklyn.

Fixed it for you, Sam.

At some point, I would hope people start to recognize the negative impact this has on American politics, and simply reject candidates who are being funded by foreign influence campaigns. It should be a matter of principle.

I didn’t get a chance to do early voting, but will be going tomorrow. Foreign policy is not something I’m concerning myself in any mayoral election. Also, however, of the four candidates I’m ranking, Cuomo is definitely not one of them.

Yes. This is the one time Betteridge’s Law does not apply.
