With the launch of Ubuntu Pro, all of the packages in Ubuntu Universe get the same security maintenance commitment from Canonical as packages in Ubuntu Main.
So? You still get the updates sooner or later.

Pro is free for personal use for up to 5 machines. Is there a problem with activating it?
Considering they're an enterprise player, and so well-known, that actually seems surprisingly low to me, especially since that's revenue not profit.
Revenue is a useless metric. What's the profit?
