"In one of the houses that we had been in, we had the big territory. This was the closest to the citizens' neighbourhood, with people inside. And there's an imaginary line that they tell us all the Gazan people know it, and that they know they are not allowed to pass it," he said. "But how can they know?"

People who crossed into this area were most often shot, he said. "It was like pretty much everyone that comes into the territory, and it might be like a teenager riding his bicycle," he said.

The soldier described a prevailing belief among troops that all Gazans were terrorists, even when they were clearly unarmed civilians. This perception, he said, was not challenged and was often endorsed by commanders.

@[email protected] thank you for sharing this important story. Please be aware that lemmy.world heavily censors discussion of the IDF. In the future please consider sharing these stories in a better community.

I am well aware that this place only allows establishment media. However in rare cases such as this one the establishment media reports against Israel which is why I posted it here.

They are censoring things posted to Lemmy.world? Just deleting things that talk about the IDF? I've seen lots of discussion of the IDF, including this post in my feed, so I don't think their censorship is working? I don't have any attachment to .world, trying to find out if I should leave the server based on this information

Here: watch this. Give it like 12 hours.

IDF soldiers are committing a genocide and every single one of them should be killed and their organs repurposed.

LW adheres by the liberal-Zionist MBFC rating system and deems critical of Israel antisemitic. You can have milquetoast opinions on the occuptation here but anything which goes past mainstream stances will get removed.

Specifically LW does not allow sources such as Zeteo and Dropsite news which do great reporting but are heavily critical of Israel. Instead it opts to ban all independent journalism. This used to be under the guise of MBFC but after MBFC specifically added these sites as credible they arbitrarily changed decided that they are 'blogs'.

For more information see the rest of the post which is also linked at the top of this comment https://lemmy.world/post/27393569

I hadn't seen the "blog" discussion before. He's been pig-headed in the past, but that's inexcusable.

This is not a war being waged there, but systematic mass murder committed by a well-equipped army.

It is, of course, commendable that this soldier has the courage to speak to the press, but the fact that this is still necessary speaks volumes about how morally bankrupt the governments of the Western world are: they continue to conjure up tales of terrorism against Israel, of a defensive war against terrorists, and in doing so condemn an entire ethnic group to the most brutal extermination.

What they are saying is exactly what the monsters in Israel are saying: All Palestinians are terrorists, all deserve to die, regardless of whether they are unarmed, starving, and just want to live—regardless of whether they are children or pregnant women.

This is genocide, not war, but the West is making common cause with the monsters and even supplying weapons for crimes against humanity.

I am ashamed that I have to watch my government do this, and I am also ashamed of my fellow citizens who are against it but are frozen in their apathy and do not have the guts to take even the slightest risk and stand up decisively against this unspeakable inhumanity that our politicians actively support out of greed for money and power.

Yeah, now imagine being an American jew who's been told their whole life Israel is their true homeland.

Well documented war crimes that will never be prosecuted by alleged liberal democracies of the west.

They are only war crimes if the losing side does them.
