Waiting too long and feeling ashamed has been a problem for me my whole life. I've tried to address it with a few of my most cherished relationships and can say I've rekindled a few thankfully after literally decades. I've spoken about it with many of my friends and family too and found I'm not the only one that feels this way, which is helpful.

If you have a few people you have lost touch with and wish you hadn't, by all means reach out to them and share how you feel. Might make you a little vulnerable but in my experience it's worth it.

Oh, absolutely. I've actually lost touch with a few friends over the years by doing this because they felt I didn't care for them, but I just find it so hard to communicate through text that I often just... don't.

Absolutely, yes. I've found that sometimes the only way I get a response out is to do a paragraph stream of thought which I then regret because. But sometimes it's fine. It's hard to gauge honesty.

This is one of the main reasons I hate the attitude that everything you write is supposed to be very filtered.

Happens with calls with me. Texting is way too easy for me.
