Pak n Save have been doing "1985" prices to celebrate their 40th birthday. Tim tams for less than 2 bucks. Its kind of upsetting to be honest

Upsetting? I often see Tim tams on sale for 2-3$. I'd buy them every single time if I had self control to not eat the entire pack in one go.

I took a rare geez at the /r/NZ sub and saw an interesting post. I was a baby during this time but im surprised to see the prices. It seems that the food is really cheap but the luxury goods are quite expensive. I'm not sure if i'd rather have food cheap and goods expensive than the other way around. I feel like I can buy a lot more than a person in the 90s could.
