Whenever another fixture of the 20th century leaves us, I spend a few minutes watching their clips, listening to their songs, reading their writing, or whatever they did. Gonna do that now.

Honestly a little surprised he lived so long. That dude liked to party.
I don't think that's the case at all. He drunk at some points and took drugs at some points but never 'partied'. If you read his book it gives a bit more context.
I'm not judging. I'd have done the same in his shoes.
Not what I'm saying. Partying suggests something very different to what he experienced. He's also been sober for a long time. A relapse is possible but so are a hundred other reasons. Suggesting it was his own fault is quite grim.
It's not grim at all.
It's likely, given his history. At the same time, this is a silly argument. Even if he were still alive he wouldn't care what either of us thinks, so let's not waste any more of our breath on this.
Jesus christ. Just because someone has a history of addiction does not mean they're destined to die. That's an awful thing to say.
Does typing make you lose breath? If so, you might be doing it wrong.
