The new mode adds permadeath and it updates your save file whenever you exit the game so no more save scumming.

LOL so you can't save at all unless you quit the game and reload? I don't see me getting the gold dice.
You can save at any time. But if you exit the game it will save again so you can't save scum.

How hard is it to backup the save and restore after quitting?
Probably not super difficult but doesn't that defeat the purpose of Honor mode?

Looking at what is presented to me by the mod manager you don't even have to save scum it, you can probably just activate it through the mod manager.
If you're that opposed to earning something and feeling like you earned it you can just exit the game through a hard close (alt-f4 or going to home screen and force closing the app on console) as that doesn't save to the save file. But then you'll feel like a dirty rotten cheater every time you look at your shiny dice. So you do you.
Or just use a mod to turn it on as an option and add dozens of other dice options. There were dice skins up as soon as it released
No mods on PS5. Plus I'd rather earn it the hard way.
Well the rest of us will be enjoying the content regardless when you get off that high horse Ms/Mr “I earned my digital dice skin”
