Trump bragged of winning both the club championship trophy and the senior club championship trophy at the Trump International Golf Club in Florida.

Biden tweeted from his personal account that it was “quite the accomplishment” for the former president to win a pair of trophies from his own club:

I also like this one:

“Just the other day a defeated-looking man came up to me and said, ‘Mr. President, I have crushing debt, and I’m completely wiped out,’” Biden said at a fundraiser. “And I had to look at him and say, ‘Donald, I’m sorry. I can’t help you.’”

Biden has been paid over 5 million dollars since 1990 by pro Israel groups. That's what you're celebrating here. The rich politician who's aiding a genocide making fun of being poor..

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago (8 children)

that's $150K a year over 30 years, and that's aggregated from numerous groups. He's raised something like 70 million in the last year alone. Is your point that the influence from "pro Israel" groups is statistical noise?

Didn't this exact scenario happen with Kim Jong Un playing golf in North Korea? (I mean, I know that's their general shtick anyway, but still)

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 year ago

Dear leader scored 18 straight holes-in-one, and furthermore accomplished this feat whilst riding a patriotic unicorn and leading its vulnerable offspring to a new, highly advanced North Korean Unicorn Habitat, simultaneously fighting off multiple waves of Capitalist Bear and Tiger covert assault forces!

a large and golfing talented membership

[–] [email protected] 13 points 1 year ago

It’s awkward phrasing and needs a hyphen between golfing and talented, but I think it’s generally cromulent. The way I read it is that it was a challenge because there’s a large number of members who are talented at golfing.

That said, when it’s your club, they let you do it. You can do anything. Grab them by the trophy. You can do anything.

Kind of a tangent, but seeing these two raisins in the thumbnail made me hate life

Do we know why the oompa loompa is so orange?

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

He uses spray tan and dyes his hair. Just happens to do too much spray tan and looks orange. That's why for example the Simpsons Trump has flesh-colored circles around his eyes, people wear goggles when they get spray tans and it leaves a distinctive look.

In 1978 he did, now he's a fallout ghoul.

We can't do better because many voters are racists, gerrymandering, unlimited money in politics, media wants to sell eyeballs to have you view pharm, insurance, and car ads, We truly live in the best of all possible worlds.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You can't do better because voters don't get a say lol. These are who the DNC and RNC want you to pick from, because this is who will make the donor class more money.

Conspiracy theorists from the right claim that the deep state is trying to oppress trump. Conspiracy theorists from the left think that they are both hand picked and it's all controlled.

Both are equally stupid and unfounded.

The reality is that it's the natural outcome of a fptp voting system to devolve into two parties, and a natural consequence of gerrymandering is increased partisanship.

The reason we can't change anything is that people think a top down approach will work, and if only we could elect the correct president it would fix everything. But the reality if you want the system to change, it's a slow process that comes from the bottom up.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I disagree. Change is violent and sudden. Often bloody. What you are experiencing is the decay of capitalism. Neoliberalism becomes fascism.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Change is constant. Sometimes it's violent and sudden, but most times it's subtle and gradual. If we were talking about something that needed a drastic change, yeah I might agree that this it might most likely come about via violence. But really were talking about how we select our representatives. Not some massively different system.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)

We do need drastic change. Right now your choices are genocide and climate apocalypse VS genocide and climate apocalypse. The people didn't get a choice.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

So what system do we put in place that solves these issuea?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You want to drastically change the system, but thinking about what that means is not part of it? Lol holy shit.

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago (4 children)

Yeah man. Humanity is disgusting. Personally I don't care for them, but I'm sure you can agree a socialist utopia would be great for human lovers.

At some point in your life, you'll shed that ageism and look to people with experience for advice.

Would you get in a plane with an 82 year old pilot?

[–] [email protected] 24 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Pfft. Don Poorleone needs to up his game. I mean, it's a matter of public record that Kim jong un wins his golf tournaments with holes in ones on all holes, and the last one even lept out of one hole into the other. On. The. Same. Swing. His buddy Putin also wins elections like it's it's hobby or something.

3 popups, 1 system notification for push messages and an add that covers 65% of the screen. Thank you Mr. Huffington, you really made me want to use your site.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 1 year ago

Thank you Mr. Huffington

Ms. Huffington, actually.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Do you not use uBlock Origin?

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

I usually do but the app on my phone that I use for Lemmy was set to Chrome as default browser that doesn't have that.

Also why the fuck would they make something that takes their income away mandatory for a good experience on their site.
