According to developers chat, the KBIN devs will ensure that moderation federates by the end of September.

As I understand it, the ability to do the auto update (technically latest) can in with 0.18.3

Also, it runs as a schedule so wouldn’t necessarily happen at the same time as other instances. Plus there are other methods of installing.

Can’t be certain of course but given other instances didn’t realise they were now updating automatically I think it’s possible.

I understand that Memmy is getting a refresh (possibly a rewrite) and it sounds like it will be very serious competition.

At the moment I use both Voyager and Memmy as each have strong points.

Just to add, if feddit.uk is using Docker then it will auto update to the latest/stable release.

There’s been no reply to messages so I think it’s safe to say that he has other things to do. Hopefully he’s okay.

And your basis for that reassurance is?

I’ve not been able to contact him. I fear there may be something wrong.

It’s to do with a change in Lemmy (and timestamps) it applies to any instance that updates beyond 0.18.4b5 .

Until Voyager puts in a fix, it will not work with more and more instances as they update.

Is Mlem being actively developed.

A couple/few of us have a problem with Voyager showing a blank screen.

I’ve tried Memmy but it doesn’t seem to have had an update for quite a while and it’s a bit rough.

Otherwise it’s back to the standard web UI until/if Voyager is fixed.

Yes I now have a white screen. Think it depends if you are in light or dark mode.

Noticed on the iOS app that if you Force Touch or long hold the screen a pill shape appears that you can drag around the screen as though you were dragging and dropping something.

So this is also happening with the PWA.

However, if I put my iPhone into Flight Mode then Voyager opens and doesn’t crash (but there’s no content)

So it looks like something it’s trying to display is causing it to crash.

Well this is weird. Uninstalled and re-installed. All was okay with the default Lemmy.world profile. Logged into my account and the screen goes black.

It was working fine this morning so I don’t know what could have changed ?

Just today, when I start Voyager the interface appears and then disappears leaving a black screen.

I’ve tried restarting the phone and force quitting the app.

Re-install next.

Just to add the instance has been updated so hopefully we’ll get back to normal service soon and @tom is okay.

The instance I’m on is having frequent episodes where it just doesn’t respond. The admin hasn’t been seen for a couple of weeks, so I’ve reluctantly started looking to setup on another instance.

Lemmy doesn’t support account migration, so I wonder if there are any tools that will help with a manual migration? For example, to copy across posts to the new account and re-subscribe to communities.

Is it possible to migrate my account from feddit.Uk or at least to export the communities I’ve subscribed to and then re-import them to another instance

(The number of occasions when feddit.Uk times out or doesn’t respond is getting to the point when I sadly need to jump ship. )

A bit of a long shot but has anyone experienced any issues using a feddit.uk account with Liftoff ?

I have a problem where after scrolling for a while, commenting and upvoting, all I will get is a spinner and eventually an error that it’s timed out.

As this doesn’t happen with the other clients I’ve tried (bean, Voyager, mLem) I thought it must be Liftoff. But after doing testing with one of the devs at Liftoff they can’t replicate it.

I created another Feddit.uk account and that is fine.

So, it can’t be Liftoff because they can’t replicate it. But it can’t be the feddit.uk server because it works fine with all other clients using the same account.

This leaves only an incompatibility that happens in certain circumstances so I’m hoping someone else has experienced it so we can try to narrow things down.

I’ve one more user on Lemmy.world that has the same issue, so it might be related to BE 0.18.2 rather than feddit.uk
