I may have misremembered this, because I'm struggling to find concrete information now. I had read at one point that an application will be rejected if the cost for care exceeds a certain amount. It's possible it was country specific and not EU in general. My health care is covered in the US because I'm a disabled veteran, but one of my medications is over $7k per week if I were to pay out of pocket.

Other countries, like Australia and NZ, have restrictions on applicants with mental disorders, like PTSD

Settings - > Appearance -> scroll to the bottom - > toggle "Show user instance"

Edit to add: hexbear specifically only recently came back to life. They were out of commission for a couple months because the person who held the certificate or however you call it for hosting the server disappeared. There was some drama about the instance name going up for auction afterwards. They are back to Lemmy as of a month or so ago

Interesting. Can you see this comment by Kieselguhr@ hexbear.net assuming you don't separately have them blocked? https://lemm.ee/comment/20182920

I chose a different user who commented in that same thread I referenced above. I definitely have that instance blocked because I just double checked my filters

I would wonder if your instance defederated them. The op and I are in the same instance, and it has a largely hands-off approach to defederation. (mostly only defederated instances that allow people/bots to share csam and similar content)

This isn't true. You can still see comments from a user on a blocked instance if they are commenting outside that instance

For example, this is a post on my home instance and I have hexbear blocked

I have been thinking of moving to a Nordic country, and downloaded an app recently to start learning Finnish. I probably should have looked where my field is in highest demand first lol.

Does anyone know if the typical restrictions for disabled people moving to the EU will be loosened in this context?

A little over a decade ago I slid to an icy stop as the yellow light came on in a turn only lane, about an hour north of Seattle. The guy in front of me tried to stop and ended up going through the intersection as the light turned red. I got a ticket with a photo of the intersection, but you could clearly see my car was stopped a good four feet behind of the line. It was dismissed, but I was pretty mad that I even had to fight that.

I don't know if the tech has improved or if they have people double checking tickets before they are issued now, but I can't say my experience made me feel positive about the automated ticket system lol

I kind of remember she was offered therapy at one point and her parents stepped in and shut that down? Last I looked into her was when her father had died, and it seemed like that would be a good change. But now I've read an article about her arrest a few years ago, and I can't believe the judge didn't order an evaluation given what Chan reportedly said at her hearings.

Seems like people are still treating her like a freak :(

It's actually pretty funny that universalmonk is banning people for downvoting

Here's a copycat recipe, with the caveat that Lawry's uses sweet bell peppers instead of hot peppers

I honestly prefer closer to green bananas, can't wait to try this. Thank you!

This is a very long, and extensive, review. I just thought it might help some who are still trying to understand their diagnosis.
