Damn son, Firefoxception

How are the captchas on MB? It's peak in privacy terms. Have never daily drived it enough to see how it impacts web usability.

Is that the Garuda fork? My fav arch distro, very user friendly even more so than endeavour

[–] HotCoffee@lemm.ee 3 points 1 month ago

Same here on vanilla firefox. When you hear Chrome so many forks like brave, opera and ungoogled come to mind.

Brave out of the box is one of the best in privacy. But at the end of the day it's still chromium :p

Besides LibreWolf not much talk of others. But Floorp and Zen are looking nice

I think Zen browser is de Vivaldi of Firefox forks. Looks pretty clean too.

Floorp also looks promising. I'll have to try both

Wondering which forks Lemmings are using. With LibreWolf I get a lot of captchas. Mercury last release, v.129.0.2 , is from 2024?

Or would just using a hardening file like Betterfox be the best option? I am on Ubuntu....

Lol than your country has been collapsing for the last 2+ years, cus it's always dominated by politics on lemmy.

It's a difficult balance to strike, since enforcing content also feels like going against the foss ethos.... It's tricky. But just keep promoting Lemmy and the fediverse and some day we will have a more balanced experience

Fellow Scallywags, I'm trying to share my booty (not that one). But my average upload speed is 294,4 kiB/s, while my average download is 6.1MiB/s.

I've tried ProtonVPN port forwarding, but that doesn't seem to increase it much more than compared to Mullvad without port forwarding.

Is it nomal that uploading is this much less than downloading? What can I do to increase upload speeds? Using qbittorrent.

Okay so I've found that it's related to connection limits, while writing this post up; the old just search it up.

So instead what are some good tips regarding connection limits?

Finally decided to convert to the penguin. I have live booted mint from a usb, without installing it yet, on a macbook pro 2017. But none of the WiFi networks in my apartment are showing, except for a few weak ones. Help a newbie out :)

Edit: To clarify it is not installed yet. Just used it from a live usb.

Edit 2: Used phone as tether for internet and went through all managers. But none had any updates that worked. I also tried installing b43 and after that wl. But both did nothing on the live usb boot, I assume since modprobe doesn't do anything on a live boot. But I ain't installing if it won't even work on the live boot.

@RedNight left a link that suggests this macbook, version 14.2, wifi doesn’t work with linux. https://github.com/Dunedan/mbp-2016-linux

Final edit: Fedora also didn't work. So it's a hardware compatibility issue.

TLDR: If u have a macbook 2017 version 14.2 the wifi won't work on linux so don't try.

Hey Lemmings! Need some advice on making weed tea. I've noticed some recipes call for decarbing the weed before infusing it into the tea, while others don't mention it at all. Has anyone tried both methods? Any noticeable differences in potency or taste?

Update: I decarbed a small amount of flower, probaly less than 0.5g , at 115 c for 30 minutes. After that I boiled it with 300ml of water and 2 tbs of butter for 30 mins. As the water evaporated I kept refilling the water.

Can't really say that it was very potent, maybe not enough flower, or not enough boiling? Wouldn't recommend based on this experience. Next time I'll just make cannabutter and put that in the tea.
