This is important information for people to read and unddrrstand. As a denizen of multiple communities for over 25 years I think the seeds of ideas start with these forums. They are almost like a canary in the coal mine to give us an idea what will bubble up to the surface to grandma.

We're not the majority on Lemmy, many instances are curated to keep out the filth. But content is recycled and moves throughout the net. I'm reminded of this old meme, eventually content makes it to facebook where my mom and elders consume content.

Sovereign wealth fund from capturing value from our citizens efforts? Reaks of socialism, but not entirely convinced capitalism is working for the everyman

Canadian feds should get shares for each dollar subsidized into their market. Why they eat the profits while tax payers get hosed?

Sucks their "shithole country" (Trump's rhetoric, just borrowing it) allows such dangerous weapons of mass destruction to cross the border of a peace keeping nation. Maybe they need NATO sanctions?

Left used to mean something, helping out the everyman with stronger safetynets. If kids need jokes we need to do that and not engage with the trolls. High ground sucks when they go low, but its needed to keep proper decorum.

Politics should be boring, we should not need to pay attention to every move they make. Progressives and lefties are bought and paid for like the rest, I'd argue that's more important for the next gen. Both are sellouts, let's go to the fun one.

In theory I'd love that, I give into the trolling but try to keep it to a minimum.

Children are watching and when everyone is slinging shit, they just see shit covered adults and that's almost worse than losing a voter. Losing the next gen

I enter civil discourse with opposing views all day erryday, but that's a nice point. We need values but I think the order of operations should be to engage civily, agree to disagree, then finally block so they don't feel empowered by their position.

Dang so sorry to hear, I don't known any vocal PP thumpers around me, but he's just so bland but like not the normal Candian kinda way, like made in a lab way.

Good catch, meant to say "don't block if you can" we need them to see our side. I'll update my op.

And to add context, this is a waiting game. I'm hopeful the factions align under progressive libs before cons. We all want a better place, we gotta keep moving forward. Regression is bad mkay

Alt-right pipeline is alive and flourishing. Check on your loved ones mental health and reach across the aisle with open arms if you can, block if you can't. Try not to feed the trolls, and Godspeed!
