While I love the original version, Seethers cover of Careless Whisper is one of my favourite songs ever.

if only MK, Fortnite and CoD would be the only three options for gamers then probably MK would win this round.

Unfortunately you comparing your favourite game to two vomit piles full of microtransaction and battle passes so cant see your point there.

If you enjoy the games Nintendo sells go for it, in my opinion the inflated new prices are ridiculous and will have a negative impact on the gaming industry in global as other big corpos will start copying them if Nintendo can get away with it.

Just put the pc screen on the scanner like a normal person

Vote with your wallet, and don't let the FOMO pull you in.

Nintendo is just a small slice of the gaming industry. If you don't like what you see there are other platforms and game developers.

For 80 usd you can buy a handful of bigger titles during a Steam sale. Just saying.

Its cool, your choice, you spend your money as you see fit.

I personally would never spend 60 usd on a game in 2017 and will never spend 80 usd in 2025. Its just too much.

Used full sized all my life, went TKL a month ago and love it, probably never go back to full size. I barely use the numpad on my personal pc anyways.

Fuck all the gatekeeping, choose whichever you like.

Maybe I misinterpreted the meme, I thought the yelling guy is also a Linux user.

Are there people who are mad at other people for using the terminal? Is this really a thing that exists?

[–] [email protected] 23 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I don't know who needs to hear this, but Bazzite (and Linux in general) is fricking amazing.

Just built a new gaming PC for linux only. After test running Linux Mint on my old PC for almost a year I ditched Windows for good. Now Bazzite is the second distro I tried and Games run great, I play coop titles with my friends all the time and apart from a handful of anti cheat titles everything just works. I do not need to tinker, I do not use the terminal or do advanced stuff. Highly recommend.

I own multiple Victorinox pocket knifes, mostly Tinker.

My current EDC multitool is a Nextool BlackKnight. Its a budget option I bought to help with some more serious stuff in my current DIY projects, so I can abuse it without thinking about the cost. It has a great blade and very strong scissors, super happy with it.

On top of that I love retro knives, my latest one is a traditional Hungarian handmade shepards knife, similar to the ones here.

I was recently rewatching the IT Crowd, which is one of my favourite shows and after finishing Season 2 Episode 1, "The Work Outing" for the hundredth of time I realized this is probably my favourite sitcom episode of all time. I just can't get bored of the jokes and the delivery. The writing is gold, and the story escalates from funny to absolutely insane hilarious. Makes me laugh every time. Half the dialogue I quote to this day.

There are many good episodes I love, and could put here as close seconds: probably most of the Futurama series, a dozen of episodes of The Office or some classics from the Friends, I could think of.

So I would like to hear what episodes of any TV show is your favourites and why? Doesn't needs to be necessarily comedy, anything from television is fair game.

Think of it as a "what single item would you bring to a desert island with you" question, just with an episode of a TV show :)

Can't wait for next year to make the same mistakes again! 🙏🙏🙏💯

This is just to share my experience with everyone, especially the people still undecided.

I was planning the switch for months, and finally had a couple hours undisturbed from the wife and the kids :)

It was a slightly rocky start, as my USB wifi receiver did not have native drivers, but with wired internet and the official Mint tutorial the rest of the transition was super smooth.

The OS install went flawlessly and within an hour I had all the basic programs, browser and utilities up and running. I love that I just download the app from the dedicated place, no pointless web surfing for the latest versions.

I backed up my steam folder (with the rest of my files of course), so after installing the steam client and some quick synchronization I had my installed games library back in minutes. I did some testing and everything works great. As I own a steam deck I already had some experience with games not running natively on Linux, but a saw many great tutorials for beginners. I cant wait to test out some more games!

Edit: thank you for all the positivity and great feedback! I know Lemmy users love Linux and I have to admit I feel a little bit more included :D

Who knows, maybe I will start warching Star Trek next...

Hi all, I hope my post doesn't violate any rules, because of the links, if yes, please let me know.

I am a beginner with road bikes, I was always a MTB person, but I decided to get a road bike for my cardio exercise as I turned 40 and I have less option in my area for MTB rides.

Since Im a beginner with road bikes I would need some advice to not mess up my purchase. Of course I done some research as well, but never know what I missed.

Im in the EU and my budget is 700-750 EUR, so yes, it will be a budget bike. I will ride 3-4 times a week for 50-70 km distances. Some hills, but nothing serious.

I found two possible candidates:

Triban RC500 The obvious choice, many reviews calling it the best budget bike under 1000 EUR, some compromises, but I think it would be perfect for me. Price: 750 EUR where I live.

Sava Vegur 1.2 A bit of a wild card, its currently on half off sale with a reputable online retailer for 680 EUR, but cant decide if its the deal of the year or I should be cautious. I know, I dont need a carbon bike for my needs, but still, Im curious if anyone ever had experience with the brand? I found reviews, opinions, etc but nothing which would tell me to buy or not buy it specifically. Its a Chinese brand, but thats about it from what I can see.

Thanks for the time and I would prefer constructive feedback if possible :)

I'm getting an android tablet soon (will be a present and a little birdie told it to me). Nothing fancy, just some mid-range 10 inch one with basic features. I'm planning to mainly use it for comic books, but while I'm at it might as well watch movies on it.

So my question is: any good setup/apps/guides for movie streaming or downloading I should know about? I don't have a home server, or anything, usually just torrent what I want on my desktop PC and watch it there, but I have zero experience with pirating movies on android.

I will definitely not use the tablet for social media, google services, etc so I can do with it whatever I want, it's purely for comics/ebooks/movies.

Most likely a repost of a repost from 5 orher platforms but I love how quickly Lemmy become my favourite place and would like to contribute!

First of all love the app, its my daily driver now for Lemmy!

I was wondering if you could favourite or "star" communities in the list so they would always show on top of the list? I love to check my feed but also I like to daily browse specific communities. It would help a lot, especially with my growing number of communities subbed.

Many thanks and keep up the great work!
