The personal stuff is backed up to Google Drive so if the laptop dies, nothing happens to them.

I will give g parted a shot too.

I have been deleting stuff for a long time. It is Windows plus very basic apps at this stage. It is a cheap laptop so I don’t want to replace the drive.

I like this idea. Zero partitions and presumably 30GB shared with dual boot into Windows and Mint. I need to read up on this one.

Yeah, the computer’s main use is a printer at this stage and the printer connected to Mint fine. I could probably make the switch as long as the printer works…

I am reading that Google Drive doesn’t have a native Linux app but there are plenty of alternatives and ways to make it work. I guess I will try that as my first option or alternatively offload it all on to a USB stick and transfer it. I could look at sync options as well.

Somewhere in the install process I read 15 GB for Mint and ran with it. It works but nothing can be upgraded.

Mint is great but I have to fix my screwups.

My cheap laptop has a 128GB SSD. I have 30GB available .

I installed Mint on Sunday on a 15GB partition then realized I was immediately out of room.

Now I believe I have reformat, repartition to maybe 25GB and reinstall. Any better options?

Also, I could probably reformat the entire laptop if I could only figure out how to replace the Google Drive for sync backup for roughly 15 GB of personal photos and videos.

Technically, I wouldn’t have to do anything as it is already backed up but I guess I’d need a way to copy everything over to a Linux alternative that can be backed up from Mint.

Thoughts?

Currently, I have the following books on my wish list that I am thinking about buying.

Salvation by Peter Hamilton. I have read everything he has published except his short stories and love them so this is next on my to-read list.

Soon I Will Be Invincible by Austin Grossman. Seems kinda cool.

Seven Deadly Wonders by Matthew Reilly. It seems like a book in a similar vein as Jurassic Park, Dan Brown, Clive Cussler type stuff.

Pernasi By Susanna Clarke. I read her first book nearly 20 years ago and thought it was good. I really like creative sci-fi stuff. I am re-reading the Ninefox Gambit series again currently so this seems right up my alley.

Brandon Sanderson Way of Kings Book 3. Yeah, I probably need to start with Book 1 again and catch up. Has anyone read his Secret Books yet?

Do any science fiction book subscriptions exist anymore with reasonably good quality books? About 10 years ago I was able to subscribe to a year of Angry Robot books for about $120 or $150. It wasn’t a bad deal as I remember I got about 24 books for the price.

What is the best way to acquire readable copies of Ellison’s short stories?

Amazon prices look extremely high at hundreds of dollars per copy. By readable, I mean books with font sizes larger than size 6 so a probably editions published after 1990. Is there a better name for these readable non-1970s editions?

eBay and thrift books are also good alternatives.

I guess I am surprised prices are so high but I guess many of his books are out of print.

When will the app’s name on the screen change?

I have a new PK300 and an Akorn. I have previously owned a Weber 22”, a Masterbuilt 560, and a Pit Barrel Cooker.

Fireworks are very bad this year. We tried some kind of brownie that was $5 bucks and supposed calm him and a product called July 3. Both did not work. What is your best product for dogs and calming them during fireworks?
