I think homosexuality has reached a level of societal acceptance(at least in the west), that it is ok to be ironically homophobic again.

Then again, some might argue that being against nazis was a societal norm, so being ironically nazi was fine too. Yet here we are now, where being unironically nazi is somewhat acceptable by a large part of the society.

Tha Taliban are fighting against ISIS-K. ISIS-K is the terrorist organisation behind the terrorist attacks in Russia. I am pretty sure that even the US had some backchannel communication with the Taliban, in order to drone strike ISIS-K targets in Afghanistan(after the US had left Afghanistan).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_reactions_to_the_prelude_to_the_Iraq_War

"On January 29, 2003, the European Parliament passed a nonbinding resolution opposing unilateral military action against Iraq by the United States. According to the resolution, "a pre-emptive strike would not be in accordance with international law and the UN Charter and would lead to a deeper crisis involving other countries in the region""

"France, Germany and Russia were from the very outset publicly opposed to a US-led war"

"Belgium, Switzerland, Sweden, Norway, Greece, Austria and Liechtenstein also condemned the war. The Czech Republic, Croatia, and Slovenia were already mentioned above"

Most european governments opposed the invasion, and most people, even from the european countries that sent troops, opposed it. The invasion of Iraq significantly deteriorated the relations between the european states and america.

It is easy to say this when you are just a rando on the internet. But these politicians are responsible for the lives of hundreds of millions of people. Keeping the tariffs because a manchild is in charge of the most powerful country, would have had significant negative effects on those lives.

The only thing we can do is pivot the EU away from the US, slowly, while building its military/IT capabilities. Trump(and the US) will suffer eventually. Treating the global economy like a shitcoin has severe long term consequences, consequences that will not be reversible for decades, if not centuries.

But in order to do this while causing as little damage as possible to Europe, it will take time(at least a decade or two).

I mean he is a lawyer, who fought for the environment for decades. You dont become a successful lawyer by reading tweets, you need to actually read and put effort. He is not like most of trump's cabinet, even though he is a conspiracy theorist and a flawed human(though with the upbringing he had, i cant imagine any human coming out as normal).

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Water_fluoridation_by_country

Plenty of countries have fluoride in their water. Ultimately, if you brush your teeth, it is a useless policy but if you dont brush your teeth, it helps a little and with 0 negative side effects.

It is a policy that "my individual rights" crowd loves to shit on. Whether individual rights are more important than a minor effect to the health of a few individuals is debatable.

Crypto has shown us that valuation isnt connected in any way to reality, all you need is good vibes and belief. There are enough musk fanboys and musk has enough access to capital that if he wants, he can pump the stock to the moon.

We are at end game capitalism, capital is consolidated to such a degree that the market is no longer a market, it is a casino. And the people with the capital are no longer participants in the market, THEY ARE THE MARKET. And the house never loses.

Our only hope is them turning on each other but ultimately the endgame of capitalism is consolidation, not competition. Maybe if trump dies or becomes immensely unpopular, things will get interesting.

Game of Thrones was the most popular series in the world, despite having multiple characters and parallel story arcs. People underestimate other people.

Marxism leninism, it's a political ideology, subset of communism. Basically the communists that love USSR, China, Cuba, etc. They love running propaganda about how these authoritarian governments did nothing wrong and how all criticism of them is just negative propaganda by the West.

I am pretty sure i was hiding upvoted posts, so i could reduce the clutter in my front page and get to new stuff faster.

But now i can see upvoted posts again and i cant find any option that hides them(am i blind).
