I did not know but its not surprising, perfect fit for a misanthrope like her.

It´s not considered "normal" by most but It´s also obvious how this is very tempting for anyone who feels lonely. However, there is a high probability the company actively optimizes the bots behavior to make lonely people emotionally dependent, not necessarily to make money out of them but even just to maximize screen time. Keep this in mind and practice awareness regarding how much of your life you want to invest into this fantasy based on a commercial AI service. If you use it consciously to fill a gap for some time, like playing a video game, there is almost no risk imo. On the other end of the spectrum, having an actual relationship with and becoming emotionally dependent on an AI bot, that is created and owned by a company, could cause serious problems in your life and hold you back socially too, even despite getting better in other areas like health. I recommend a conscious use approach.

There’s no guarantee the company doesn’t try to tune the AI’s behaviour for maximum value extraction from you.

Agreed, I would even say there is almost a guarantee they are doing that.

Metroidvania is a stupid name

It´s a perfect fit for games like Dead Cells though, isn't it?

Those damn radicals, won´t they ever think of the economy?

They only ended self service salad bars.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 5 months ago (1 children)

The answer to that is obvious, finally we get an option to romance Regis!

Seems like that is what those TWWH Empire guns are based on:

Today I would like to introduce you to Small Lebowsky, an austrian artist who became a living legend with a cult following on german speaking reddit communities. Especially the biggest german meme community r/ich_iel loves him for posting a new frog drawing every wednesday, always titled "Es ist Mittwoch meine Kerle" - "It's Wednesday my dudes", which he kept up for several years if I'm correct. Some time ago he stopped the traditional Wednesday frog posts on reddit and took a break, to soon after resurface on lemmy/mastodon.

His style is characterized by clear lines and is strongly influenced by manga, anime and Japanese pop-culture, as well as western fantasy and science fiction. His drawings are usually stuffed with -more or less insider- references and easter eggs for the viewer to find.

Check out his work here:

I have been uploading comic art images by Moebius for several weeks almost daily to the [email protected] community, where I´m a moderator myself. All those images have disappeared. Modlog says the images have been deleted by "admin". Modlog gives no reason for this but says the images were later restored by "admin" but that is not true. All my comic art posts have been destroyed and are empty posts now. I was not even contacted a single time about this and honestly can´t think of a reason because I had uploaded exclusively "safe for work" and apolitical material. We are trying to build a community for european graphic novels like "Tintin", "Lucky Luke" and "The Incal" and I put a lot of love in those posts because I want to help make our community interesting and grow. However - I have been stongly discouraged to contribute content now that I have seen it gets arbitrarily wiped by anonymus admins. How can I find out what happened, who deleted my stuff and why they did so? How can I avoid this happeing to my posts in the future?

I got banned for a day. There was zero communication about it. I simply could not log in any more without any prior warning or any information about what was going on, or about the reason for the ban. This seems like a pretty bad practice because it wont give the user any chance of knowing what they did wrong and how to change their behavior to avoid breaking the same rule again in the future. Even now with my account unbanned, the modlog does not tell me any of those things. I think it is essential to let anyone who gets banned know:

  • Why they were banned, including which rules they broke and in which statements/comments/posts they did so and how, to enable people to actually improve their behavior. Otherwise banning is pointless because users will just make a new account on another instance without changing their behavior

  • That they were banned, I was super confused when I just couldnt log in any more suddenly

  • For how long they were banned, I only found out about the duration of my ban by checking the modlog

  • Who banned them, to make a conversation possible and also to make sure some admins/mods don´t abuse their privilege

It would also make sense to have a warning/strike system in place so people don´t just suddenly get banned without ever knowing they did something wrong
