We have a bard travel accross the lands and carry out our data by singing epics about it.

That's a valid backup because it's a different media, correct?

Americans wouldn't do it, the rest of the world would

You can get a solid 600h with all of these without taking excessively long with each of them... Asbolut bangers

No steamdeck support... They had somewhat working support during closed beta as I got it working then... But now they completely dropped it

I'm on drunkenslug, geekhub and one German specific

Never had any issues and found nearly everything on those three. So I think you're good 👌

FOSS-alt to Authy? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

I currently use Authy on my android and my Linux system.

It syncs every new authenticator between my devices but I dont want to trust companies with my security anymore.

I host a nextcloud instance on my homelab. Does anyone know a good FOSS authenticator that can use my nextcloud to sync between Linux and android? Provided that it is available on both of course.

Thanks for any input!

How usable are AMD GPUs? (lemmy.dbzer0.com)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Heyho, I'm currently on a RTX3070 but want to upgrade to a RX 7900 XT

I see that AMD installers are there, but is it all smooth sailing? How well do AMD cards compare to NVidia in terms of performance?

I'd mainly use oobabooga but would also love to try some other backends.

Anyone here with one of the newer AMD cards that could talk about their experience?

EDIT: To clear things up a little bit. I am on Linux, and i'd say i am quite experienced with it. I know how to handle a card swap and i know where to get my drivers from. I know of the gaming performance difference between NVidia and AMD. Those are the main reasons i want to switch to AMD. Now i just want to hear from someone who ALSO has Linux + AMD what their experience with Oobabooga and Automatic1111 are when using ROCm for example.

Komga and Kavita Metadata Fetcher is a tool that fetches metadata and thumbnails for your digital comic book library. It can automatically pick up added series and update their metadata and thumbnail. You can also manually search and identify series, or match the entire library or a series. Additionally, you can install the Komf userscript to add Komf integration directly to Komga and Kavita UI, allowing you to launch manual or automatic metadata identification.

It has a userscript to be integrated into the kavita UI https://github.com/Snd-R/komf-userscript

Kavita v0.7.8 Changelog Summary

Major Updates:

  • New Filtering System: Kavita introduces a revamped filtering system, allowing users to create unique filters and combine statements. The system is designed to be flexible and expandable.

  • Localization Progress: Kavita is now fully translated into Korean, Chinese (Simplified), and almost entirely in Italian. Many other languages have over 80% of their strings translated.

Added Features:

  • Click on a character tag from the Reading list to open a pre-filtered search.
  • New sections in OPDS feeds for "Want to Read" series.
  • Admins can change the cover image size with multiple size options.
  • User day breakdown stat graph on user stats page.
  • Filters by Path, filepath, and Series Summary.
  • New filter comparison: "Must Contains".
  • Ability to delete single collections from card actions.

Changes:

  • Revamped metadata filtering for custom combinations.
  • OPDS Series names no longer show format in the name, but in the summary.
  • Various performance improvements and optimizations.
  • Updated transloco library for better compatibility with older iOS browsers.

  • Multiple fixes related to OPDS Feeds.
  • Improved localization key fixes.
  • Fixed lag on the reading list page.
  • Resolved potential bugs related to series naming for epubs.
  • Fixed issues with epub reader backgrounds and highlighting.
  • Made Kavita and the entrypoint script executable for the docker container.

API Changes:

  • Several APIs now have a v2 version, with the original being deprecated.

Known Issues:

  • Server Stats tab requires browser refresh after selection.

So i just saw the post here about harmonoid. Very good looking app, but it's only for a local music library.

I have mounted the iscsi disk that i also use for my plex library so i could just use harmonoid to play my plex music.

But that's not what i want. I want to be able to use the playlists i make on plex, use the files for which i made custom metadata etc.

I know the plexamp app is available on linux. But i see that it's basically just the android app ported to linux and the whole UI is absolute garbage for a desktop imho.

So does someone know a good open-source desktop music player that syncs with my plex library and playlists? I really like symfonium on my android phone for it's customizations but it's not available on linux...but something like that? Or something like harmonoid but with plex support?

Thanks !

So we know that the parasite leaves the host if the host dies. We see this at multiple instances.

Now every character starts with a Scroll of Revivify. Why can't we just kill the characters, wait for the parasite to crawl out and revive them directly after?

I know of course this would stop the game to progress and the whole plot would stop to work... but this little plothole annoys me in a funny way :-D

Everyone here is talking about how to get the latest and best stuff, but no one is talking about how they actually manage it 😜

So, how do YOU manage your Movies / Shows / Music / eBooks / Games?

I begin:

  • Plex for Movies / Shows / Music
  • Kavita for eBooks and Manga
  • Romm for my Gamecollection and Roms (it supports PC games aswell)

Browse through thousands of Roms from a myriad of consoles

The 3DS Modders of you might know this page aswell as myrient is the backbone of hShop. But to all the others, enjoy this wonderful fileserver!

It contains nearly every ROM i searched for. The newer consoles are not on it (Switch, PS4, etc.) but all the retro consoles, heck even up to the 3DS, is all there.

You can connect to it via FTP, Rsync or browse the fileserver straight from their website.

They got different repacks of the games and usually offer all different regional releases.

Have fun with it!
