This is First Past The Post in action. 2/3 of respondents selected someone other than her, yet she "wins" this poll.

Drop the bottom 1/3rd of the candidates, and revote. Repeat a couple times. This soon after the election, Harris's support is as high as it's going to get. Reduce the number of spoilers, and her numbers have nowhere to go but down.

Are you sure you're not Joe Biden?

Prior to the two AIs switching languages, this was two machines using "voice" to convey data.

Technically, they weren't using "Internet Protocol" over that voice link.

Technically, it's not internet protocol over voice, but the two AIs are initially using voice to convey (meta) data.

Your terms are acceptable.

The third party spoiler effect tends to hand elections to the worst option on the ballot. Rebuilding an extant party accomplishes the same intent.

This, exactly.

Boomers grew up with a 91% top-tier tax rate.

Nobody ever paid that rate; anyone who was close to that line found some tax deductible way of spending their excess. That "tax deductible way of spending" was, ultimately, someone else's paycheck.

Without that punitively-high top tier, there is no need for them to actually spend their excess income. They invest it, creating a debt owed back to them.

We tolerate this horseshit out of fear that "they'll go away, and take the jobs with them". Which won't happen: When we restore our 91% top-tier tax rate, the rest of the world will follow.

Be the change you want to see in the world.

They just aren't given enough to do what needs doing.

Guillotines are on back order, with earliest ship dates after December 4th.

They aren't a new party.

A distinction without a difference. Whether they are a new party, or a sect within the old GOP isn't particularly relevant. The relevant part is that the GOP adopted their positions and rhetoric.

I swallowed that fucker whole, but I'm about 92% sure that within 4 years, this headline will have become reality.

The potential is there, but I doubt it will come to that. The same potential was there for the Tea Party to spoil GOP races. Instead, the GOP became the Tea Party.

We need a Guillotine Party to drag the Democrats back to the people.

I do steady, part time work as a blacksmith, because I love it.

I also work for a hot air balloon ride company, again, because I love it. But, the balloon business is seasonal and weather dependent. We fly about 8 months out of the year, and about half our scheduled flights are canceled due to weather.

I'm looking for one more hobby/gig to do in the off-season or when it's just not flyable.

Something more interesting than DoorDash... I really don't want to go back to that.

Z59.71 - "Luigi Deficiency" (www.icd10data.com)

Z59.71 is a medical diagnostic code for "Insufficient health insurance coverage".

It's a diagnosis that should never have existed.

The Outrageous: Homeowner Lannie Fentress was beaten and arrested for trying to put out a fire in his own home.

The Interesting: A special grand jury assembled to investigate the charges refused to indict Mr. Fentress.

The Amusing: That same grand jury turned around and indicted Police Sgt. DJ Newton, the arresting officer.

Gripe #1: From inbox, replying directly to a comment, I get the error "Could not determine post to comment to". I don't have this problem when I am viewing a comment in a post's, thread, only when viewing it from the inbox.

Gripe #2: Tapping the comment in the inbox takes me to the comment thread for the post, but does not take me to the specific comment within that thread. In a long thread, I can't always find the specific comment I am trying to reply to.

Edit: version 0.2.4

Edit2: Gripe #3: haven't figured out how to edit posts within Thunder; had to switch to Connect to make these edits...

I am getting this error pretty regularly. I'll see a message in my inbox, and when I tap through to view it in context, it's missing. Can't find a cause or a workaround.
