Irony can be used in many situations. I want a German word that specifically refers to this situation. Something like Erfinderhybris; I just slammed Inventor and Hubris together.

Some Executives have no understanding of the need for Deep Work and can't imagine how the office isn't good for it.

The problem is executives have no need of deep work, that's what they hire others for. Bad executives don't understand this and assume you need what they need.

Every boss wants every employee to care about the bottom line.

Then make it an employee owned company. Oh, you don't want to do that because you have to share the profits? Then deal with no one caring.
