You arnt old. And I also feel the same as you. I am becoming anti consumer. I hope as a last chance Gen x get to go out in a blaze. I am becoming more activist. We have been fighters all our lives. Time to use it for good.

If I had a magic internet/media button I know what it would be.

It would be a brand banish button. If I see an ad, I wanna just have a button to banish them from all my devices…forever. I already have a rule you poss me off with adverts …I defo won’t buy.

So much tech potential that just does not exist!

Anyone found a convenient way for music that’s not perpuating a subscription? I’m an iPhone user and do like my tunes in the car. I’m good for movies shows etc. Dropped them all ages ago.

I have this. Paid for these things through from cassette and VHS to cd/dvd then paying for streaming. I have paid over and over for some content. I hate subscriptions.

I totally agree. I just mentioned RKelly and MJ. I have had to stop listening. As time goes by more comes to light and I lose some good tunes.

Hmm I suppose I should amend. I have had this same dilemma with RKelly then MJ. I just can’t condone some artists.

Yeh I am not a gamer but have a family of them. As the tech person I’m usually the one dealing with purchases and set up. The evolution of gaming has become a real burden.

I wanna listen to a particular song by an artist who has recently turned pretty nazi. As I generally use Spotify I now refuse to listen to his music in there, esp as it generates earnings. I kinda wanna pirate the music somehow…I’m not gonna as I’m not gonna down a song or two and then store it on my phone like it’s the year 2000. But short story is this me justifying piracy to myself.

I had a male midwife 15 years ago. When giving birth I didn’t really care about the gender of my caregiver. I think in a weird way it gave my husband a more comfortable environment. I wish more men would feel comfortable taking up the profession.

Do you the male partners/husband relate to you during the birthing time?

And do you get any rejections from clients due to being male?

I have been busy but I bought my teenager a vintage sewing pattern. And we are working through it together. Just planning how much fabric. I also did some walks and some eating.

I know. It’s like some people are scared of interacting with real humans so they watch it instead.

I am trying to consume less in my life and also spend a little less, because one of the few voices I have is spending and its better in my bank than a corps. I have been trying to either buy used, or buy better value items, and or avoid plastics etc.

I am stating to notice what can only describe as small barriers, I know its just inconvenience and habit but I am hoping for some suggestions that can help me overcome the hurdle.

As an example I have been trying to buy some new utensils, I would prefer nice ergonomic ones metal and wood. But when I try reviews there is so much sponsored/ click here to buy blogs. Its hard to find decent reviews, when tying to choose and under consume getting the right thing researching is an important step. Even then purchasing decent quality is dominated by big stores amazon/dept stores etc. I was looking at OXO good grips but they are still heavily plastic and they only have decent ranges in amazon or John Lewis. Its not about the utensils, its more the barriers inbetween. I have enjoyed these conveniences that have now trapped me in a way.

Another example when trying to buy used items, it is so hard to do this without marketplace.

Anyone else feeling this?
