TL;DR - Lemmy's userbase compare to Reddit just feel more angry and it so offputting when asking a question and getting an answer that sound like their pissed off. Feels oddly worse than Reddit.

Honestly, I want to like Lemmy as I want to try not use Reddit as much. The thing that is holding me back is I hate the users on Lemmy which their often passive aggressive and really snarky. I know Reddit does have those people but I always seen more them on Lemmy where I barely used it as much.

I asked on AskLemmy community if there's any Gen-Z community around, ideally just talking about nostalgia and stuff like that. Nothing malicious at all. Then got a angry reply saying "Fuck Gen-what, just join community and post!" and telling me about generation are there to "divide" people. Apparently, me asking community which mainly be me talking about cartoon and games I grow up with is evil.

If the tone was at least "This may not matter as much and you find it better picking any community that in your best interest" then I'm be alright, it the way they seem pissed at me for even asking it like I'm an idiot which gets to me. When I told that person to calm down and stop being snarky, I got reply from other users saying they wasn't.

Might stick to Reddit for now. I know it not great but it in my experince isn't as easily pissed off and is actually bareable to scroll for awhile. I hate talking bad about Lemmy as I really want to like it but I just hate the userbase so much that it feels pointless to even properly use it as much.

I won't lie, I feel like an outcast and I imagine majority of Lemmy are Millennials and Gen-X. The r/GenZ subreddit is mostly garbage but still want find an online community that is for Gen-Z by Gen-Z so I can use less of Reddit if possible. ~~I know, I commited biggest sin on Lemmy for using Reddit.~~

I'm not sure if I would have the time and energy to make a community from scratch. Mainly just trying to sell the idea of Lemmy to people without sounding pretentious. Also, I did suggested Mastodon to my friends and was disinterested. Not going to lie, it did a hurt a bit as I do feel bit passionate about the Fediverse and I feel weird for being interested which most people in their 20s won't care and using Instagram or TikTok instead.

For context, I want to teach myself Graphics Design as I had dropped out of college copule years ago for personal reason but still want to learn it.

I have heard from few people online that they have got Affinity running with Bottles or Wine. I really want to use less of Windows whereas possible but I'm unsure how well it performs on Linux and if there are a better alternative from Affinity and Adobe in general.

Does removing old drivers would affect compatibility for older hardware?

I just ordered an dreamcast on eBay and eventually want to get CRT monitor to try out the VGA as well as I have an OSSC which has VGA inputs.

Was originally thinking of getting the official VGA box until I saw the compassion video of the crushing black.

I swear, he is a fever dream

I know this is a double-edge sword and I can see why some would disagree on this but I mean it's a 'unpopular opinion' so I going to say it anyway

For me, I found discussing about one on the Fediverse is lot like talking to the wall dispite having hashtags. I felt like I can't talk about my comfort-artist as much. Reasons why people still use Twitter dispite Elon Musk made it identical to Gab & Trust Soical is there's content creator and celebrity there which is easy to get updates from there.

In theory, I should be alright with Threads but not as excited as it has some moderating issue such as LibsOfTikTok known for spreading Transphobia and pushing the narrative that all trans people are groomers. If this wasn't made by big company like Facebook, Admins of various instances would defederated straight away until they take moderation seriously.

Better alternative would be making an instance which is primarily for music artist or well-known content creator so anyone who isn't fond of that culture can simply mute/block the instance and move on.

Tomb Raider on PlayStation is what I say is way ahead of it's time which I think not many people give the game credit for.

It is one of the few early 3D games that nails the atmosphere and have tension. I always gets sense of adventure and I discovered part of the tomb by myself which I feel like modern games holds people's hand a little where it feels less fun and more I been told to do XYZ.

Also the way they did the water effect is impressive that they distort the texture UV postion I believe.

I read the rules on your instance and was wondering if there anymore for setting up RSS bots as I know some instance want the bot to not over post for certain amount of time

I'm not sure if there is news for music so I thought I might as well as set it up if there isn't any.
