Now this is fascinating--I'm seeing no ticks in Plus! Maybe it varies by country (located in Canada, but I think I pay in USD)

Is this for Mail Plus or Proton Unlimited? I pay for Mail Plus, and have continually gotten the "P2P is blocked" page whenever I try to redownload the Ubuntu 22.04 ISO--maybe I should complain

Although looking at the VPN section, it does appear that the Free and Mail Plus plans have the same checkboxes, so perhaps I am reading it correctly

This is correct

Update: I have used Mail Plus since before Proton VPN was a thing, and have never been able to P2P download--Proton should make this clearer

Microsoft is warping the PC industry into something unrecognizable

I was so surprised by how easy it was to install Yacy--I'd thought a self-hosted search engine would be tough, but I made a docker-compose file and pointed my reverse proxy to the server, works perfectly so far!

All-in-all a weekend well spent

This post got me looking at their offerings again, and it looks like they have a $100 Air SE--if it's the same ceramic heater design I'd say it's well worth it

Arizer. Solid Canadian company, they've been making vaporizers for two decades, and they have a wide selection of different types.

My (original) Arizer Air has gotten more use than I'm willing to admit over the past 5 years, and while it's starting to show its age, but still working without a hitch. If it gave out tomorrow, I'd go order the new Air (2? Max? not certain) with USB-C charging and a digital display, although neither of those features are essential!

I'm also using Plasma 5 on my Surface Laptop Studio! Wayland brought a lot of touch advances, but unfortunately the onscreen keyboard still does not work with every application.

Personally, I think KDE Plasma is great for convertibles/touchscreen laptops, but still has a ways to go before I'm comfortable using it with touch on the Surface. Windows 11 is still the best "touch-optimized desktop environment" I've used, unfortunately, but I'm expecting good things as more apps are ported to Wayland!

I thought he was de-listing January 1st?

Delisting if the fees were not changed--they were. While new devs should probably steer clear of Unity, a game where development is 95% done should be released

My prescription eyeglasses have a blue light filter built in, and I still use night shift at night--whether it makes any difference to sleep is up for debate, but overall it's just more comfortable to use I think!

Very true--the specific EOS repo has given me a bit of trouble in the past, but it takes like 3 commands to remove it and then you've got just arch (although some purests may disagree 🤣)

Since the update to Version 18, I have been unable to subscribe to any communities (local and federated), with the subscribe button simply not appearing. I am using Firefox 114.0.2 with uBlock Origin running. Anyone know what I might do to fix this issue? Thanks!!!

Edit1: Just tried the same process using Brave Browser, and experiencing the same issue:

Edit2: @floofloof's workaround of searching for the community via the "communities" tab seems to work intermittently on both Chrome and Firefox!

When mindlessly browsing Reddit, I found that I usually just jump directly to the comments, read a couple, and continue. Lemmy seems a bit more curated (read: smaller), and therefore it's easier to actually engage in discussions, which leads me to read the article, think critically about it, and respond (if I have something to say) in the comments--bigger is not always better!

I've found that "Hot" often gives me posts I have seen days before, same with "Most Comments". So far I've found that "Top Day" is best, but then I lose a lot of posts from my smaller communities

How do you sort your Lemmy instance? Any tips I'm missing?

I have owned Surface devices since the first Pro in 2013. In order of release date (but not necessarily the date I acquired them), I have owned a Surface RT, Surface Pro 1, Surface Pro 2, Surface 3, Surface Pro 4, Surface Book 2 (15"), Surface Go (1), and, most recently, the Surface Laptop Studio. Needless to say, I absolutely love the hardware (hardware) of these devices and am looking forward to discussions and troubleshooting with fellow surface enthusiasts!!!
