Well there you go. We also have Woolworths, Target, and Kmart still more or less thriving (certainly more than their northern brethren)

No, and it took years for the index to make it down officially too. One of the reasons I remember hearing was that for any warranty or repairs the detective unit would've had to have been shipped all the way to the US and back again which can easily be some $100 in postage for the round trip.

Eventually it became available thru EB Games (think Aus Gamestop) who I imagine can act as a intermediary and send units up in batches rather than one at a time

Wasn't there something like this already? Swear I read couple months ago something about a police force buying data off data brokers to get around protections in place.
