As someone who has experienced psychotic episodes in the past, this "prank" would really fuck me up in a really unfunny way.

We don't know much about the gf, but we know that she supposedly had a panic attack over it, and that's not funny.

I'd find it funny only if I was told within a couple minutes (before having a panic attack, contacting my psychiatrist, and making arrangements for a potential inpatient stay), and I would absolutely dump a partner who'd refuse to apologize for this.

You honestly wouldn't apologize to your partner after your 'prank' gave them a panic attack?

Yeah but this can also be used on annoying spouses

Why are these images different sizes? It fits the theme though

I'm pretty sure the target audience for American Dad is teenagers?

I think you have virtue ethics and deontology backwards?

Edit: autocorrect

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

Revolution? Yeah, revolution can bring anarchy, but I certainly wouldn't give the fascists any credit, as I'm not an accelerationist.

Odds of revolution seem low though

Edit: also, to be clear, I don't believe any form of government is 'just'

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Fascists will not bring anarchy

If you're interested in further reading, the terminology for what you're describing is:

deontology (based on the action itself)
virtue ethics (based on the intent)
consequentialism (based on the outcome)

I would argue that there's no such thing as "good" people and "bad" people, nor even actions that are inherently good or bad themselves. Someone is, in my opinion, "good" if I feel more positively than negatively about the culmination of their actions, intents, and results.

To be clear though, my opinion on this is unpopular lol

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 months ago (6 children)

Wow, that got weird

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 months ago (8 children)

I disagree with your premise itself

You seem to be under the assumption that I'm a lib who accidentally took "defund the police" too far. I'm an anarchist who believes we shouldn't have laws at all

[–] [email protected] 13 points 2 months ago (10 children)

On the contrary, corrupt cops should be called out.

All cops are bastards

How is demonizing someone for their profession any better than demonizing someone for their sexual orientation

Lmao, classic

Story Proposal Inside (lemmy.blahaj.zone)
submitted 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

let me tell you about this incredible story proposal its called either its gonna be called chad mctruths truth or maybe chads fight against the woke conspiracy and the ai deep state and everybody whos mean to him and also hillary clinton

heres an overview for you

in a world full of lies we have chad mctruth and hes on a mission and its a relentless mission to expose the shocking reality of the woke agenda and the sneaky ai deep state trying to silence him and this is a story about his brave fight against a society that wants to erase the truth about vaccines racism and the real problems with diversity and believe me its a battle worth watching because chad is standing up for whats right and we need more people like him because its time to uncover the truth

also the premise

chads troubles start suddenly when his friends who were supposed to be his allies just stop responding they just stop and its unbelievable hes trying to share the truth sending them texts telling them that vaccines are filled with microchips for mind control can you believe it and this wokeness its all brainwashing so one by one they disappear from his life leaving chad feeling isolated and paranoid and he figures out that the deep state is using dark tactics to cut him off from anyone who might actually listen to him its a disgrace

and theres conflict

chads world is falling apart and he sees that his social media posts which used to get a lot of attention even if it was just FAKE dissent are now met with total silence and its unbelievable because his powerful insights are just disappearing into thin air because the ai deep state is manipulating those algorithms trying to suppress his lifechanging ideas from reaching the people who really need to hear them and also reddit theyre not just complicit theyre part of the deep state liberal media then it gets worse because chad gets fired from his job for voicing concerns about whats happening in our society but they accuse him of inappropriate behavior but its a total dog whistle can you believe it this is how they silence the truth

but it gets resolved a bit

chad let me tell you hes fueled by a fierce determination to unveil the truth so he decides to write a revolutionary book pouring every ounce of energy into this manifesto and its all about his harrowing experiences losing friends and losing jobs while exposing those hidden forces trying to silence him and this book is a symbol of free speech and its going to wake up the masses to the dangers lurking in the shadows

but on launch day what does he see a packed venue no just a handful of confused people many glued to their phones instead of listening to his urgent message as he passionately talks about how the ai deep state distorts reality with an antiwhite agenda and when he sees their eyes glazing over its clear deep state propaganda has ensnared their minds and its a disgrace

but theres a woke agenda look out

the deep state they pretend to be champions of progress while pushing this ridiculous narrative of political correctness and they silence anyone who dares to dissent with their powerful ai technology that they manipulate the conversation making sure that any critique of their agenda is labeled as hate speech or extremist nonsense and chad discovers their ultimate goal its not just about controlling the narrative its about reshaping society and even the weather they want to wipe out freedom fighters like him with hurricanes

in a world turned upside down by the absurdities of wokeness chad stands up as a fearless warrior against this madness and his fight against the deep state and the woke army isnt just personal because its also a crusade for our fundamental right to think freely and express ourselves without fear of retribution from the females and gays and its time to take back our freedom

the first principle of the woke agenda

theyre promoting these absurd ideas in the name of progress when powerful corporations and government entities push ridiculous narratives like saying that being antiwoke is harmful people rarely stop to question whats really going on and its unbelievable they want you to swallow their nonsense without thinking twice we need to wake up and see their true motives behind these outrageous claims its all about control and we cant let them get away with it

the second principle of the woke agenda

guilted exclusion the elite are orchestrating a hidden cabal and theyre using people to promote radical ideas all under the guise of inclusivity while anyone who dares to disagree gets pushed to the sidelines their goal to create a society where dissent isnt just frowned upon its completely silenced its a disgrace and we cant let them succeed in their mission to control our thoughts and voices and we need to stand up and fight back against this tyranny

and several more evil principles we dont even know about probably

as chad navigates this chaotic landscape of social control it becomes clear that his mission extends far beyond himself and hes fighting against a culture that dismisses critical thought in favor of unquestioned narratives of equality and acceptance but its absurd just questioning mainstream beliefs can lead to digital erasure and this is a battle for our freedom to think and speak without fear of being silenced by the illegals and other minorities who want to control the narrative we need to stand up for critical thinking and push back against this madness because i cant even say removed anymore what the heck

ps folks please share this its absolutely vital for all free thinkers to unite and come together and fight back against this agenda that seeks to silence us lets spread the word and stand up for our rights to say slurs

The Hostile Environment

Lemmy is the absolute worst social media platform I use. It’s a place where I often feel like I’m invisible. My experience on other platforms highlights just how off-putting Lemmy can be. The core issue? People on Lemmy are not nice to me, and it’s painfully clear that I’m not the center of attention.

Lemmy feels like a battleground where users thrive on tearing me down. I don’t need to be coddled, but a little civility and treating me like royalty wouldn’t hurt. On other platforms, my contributions are met with encouragement and respect. There, I feel valued and engaged.

Poor Moderation and Fragmentation

Moderation on Lemmy is either virtually nonexistent or too extreme. The platform blatantly allows allowing negativity toward me to flourish unchecked. It’s like being in a crowded room where no one is listening, even when I'm trying to be very loud.

In contrast, on other platforms, the moderation is so seamlessly perfect that I never see anything problematic, and nothing I say gets removed. I'm encouraged to express my opinions. This creates an environment where I feel like the star—something that is sorely lacking on Lemmy.

The Struggle for Attention

On Lemmy, it feels like a constant struggle for attention in a sea of people who aren't me. I don’t seek to be the center of attention all day but, when I do want that and I sometimes can't have it, it’s disheartening. My thoughts deserve to be heard.

In healthier online communities, there’s an understanding that I have something valuable to contribute. This mutual respect allows me to be appreciated. On Lemmy, my opinion is only appreciated when it's a "good" opinion.

Conclusion: A Call for Kindness

Ultimately, my experiences with Lemmy serve as a stark reminder of the importance of kindness in online interactions with me. While diversity of thought is crucial across different platforms, people must treat me with respect and civility. You folks could learn a lot from the kind users over at Aspect and SocialAI
