So I can't be proud of being from my country? City? Neighborhood? I don't think it's so black and white unless you have another term to describe being happy about where you're from.

I know you said transition away from news sites but Easynhk.com is always a staple

Twitter is honestly great since there's so much variety, not to mention there's a lot of artists who'll post full chapters of manga. You just have to curate who you follow to avoid musk stuff.

I'd also say just watch some YouTube videos. It's a good way to practice listening and most YouTubers will personally subtitle their videos as well so you can follow along while reading. A particular favorite way for me is to watch videos of Japanese people travelling/living in America/English speaking places. It's fun seeing their experiences with everyday stuff for us; a channel I watch a lot is called Kira Kira USA. They post videos frequently, use a lot of day to day Japanese, and get to see viewpoints from the various family members.

Good luck!

日本語でもいい?

I mean, isn't this why everything you see is America dominated? Almost every major platform used by typical English speaking westerners is going to be owned and made in America and hence America focused. Combine this with the gargantuan influence America exerts on the world, I don't think it's hard to see why you see so much American centered things. I get this is a shit post but I always see comments like this bemoaning american over representation.

Do you know how wasteful? Is there like an actual overhead when running obs, or is it more like Nvidia shadow play or steams recording? Are you actually recording when you have that active or is it just actually creating a virtual screen?

Anyone know how I can get remote access with my monitors off while using Wayland ? Everytime I log in if I have my monitors off I just get a black screen. I bought one of those dummy HDMI plugs no dice. Works fine with x11 but I don't want to have to relog every time I get to my computer.

Xbox will still exist as a platform, just not the console. It'll probably just be stuff like the Xbox ally x; Xbox partners with brands to sell hardware with cut down versions of windows that has access to 3rd party markets like steam and such, but a major emphasis on the Xbox/windows store.

Either way, I don't think there has to be a third platform if Xbox went away. PC looked kinda shaky there for a moment in the '00s/'10s, but at this point it seems pretty well poised to become the dominant platform. Xbox and PlayStation already port games to steam and even GoG. Nintendo is the harder nut to crack, I'm not sure what'd it take for them to get out of the hardware business. I read somewhere they have enough cash on hand to operate at a loss for like a decade or something.

I feel like I've heard my grandpa say this, things were better back in my day...

Penny Arcade Expo is one of the biggest gaming conventions in America (and Aus) so I'd say yeah. I think they still make the comic too.

Wish they were more widespread. Closest to me is... 800 miles away? Was nice when I was near one.

EDIT

So anything I said below was all a lie, it turns out that the issue was kde and my monitors, which are 240hz. I swapped to gnome and the issue disappeared, and then I installed bazzite kde on a second drive and the issue reappeared. Setting my refresh rate to 120hz stopped the flickering and upon setting it back to 240hz I do notice an appreciable decrease in artifacting. I have no idea what to do with this information, but if anyone is experiencing this try just decreasing your refresh rate for your monitors.

Howdy,

Just installed Nobara again and am trying to figure out why this is happening. I think it's a firefox thing since I haven't seen it happen in any other application; basically anytime I do a lot of scrolling, the firefox window breaks down and I can see my desktop background behind it. It always happens in the bottom right cornerish part of the window. I'm up to date on all updates as far as I'm aware. I did some googling and checking out the nobara discord but I couldn't find anything related. I tried recording my screen via spectacle to show the issue, but it wouldn't capture the issue.

Any help would be appreciated; I am a linux beginner so dumbing down any info you have would be nice. Thanks!

Hey, Henry's come to see us!

Pretty surprised, I was kind of expecting it to slip past its supposed spring release just due to its enormous success. Excited to play drm-free, especially after all of the rave reviews.
