To be fair, we have compound words in English. Firefly, sunflower, etc... if you get into latin prefixes and suffixes joined with root words, you can create some incredibly long words.

"Subpostactuallismian."

"C U M

I'M FUCKING STUPID".

I randomly applied to become a deputy once in SD. I just wanted to see what was happening. The first thing they sent people home for was for wearing JEANS (that was 1/4 of the applicants). They also had a rotating piece of propaganda, "when you're not working out, they are."; it was a picture of inmates working out with that text overlaid. You had to either be a jail guard or court guard for 2 years before you could be an LEO. They also would not stop saying,"they're going to take your gun,", "they're going to take your gun and shoot you,", "they're going to take your gun and commit a mass shooting,". That and SUPER racist conversations about demographics. The sheriff has his office above the entrance of the building and brags about watching the new hires. I have NO idea how people work for them. I've never really seen the SD police outside of downtown. Mostly, I've seen sheriff's deputies, which is what I applied for. It felt so odd being able to walk into that place just because I filled out an application. It was honestly eye-opening. They really need to get paid more while simultaneously being held to a WAY higher standard. Also, security guards have a better understanding of de-escalation than cops. I did that for a bit. Racist as fuck. They had Facebook for security, and it was just people guessing races based on shitty security images. That was at Target, a company that sells their security systems. This country is fucked. I'm not trying to shill for the police at all, I just thought that might be a relevant piece of info you guys would find interesting.

Edit: I just caught the instance, lmao

Edit 2: random tangent: The only thing I ever did as a security guard that felt good was preventing gift card scams. That was the only instance where I felt like I was actually protecting people and not property. I lasted about 2 weeks at that job.

Edit 3: I found the poster. I was a little off with the quote:

We know. We never got rid of the electoral college, but we tried. It was only a matter of time, sadly. The fall of techno Rome has long been harkened. Land shouldn't vote; people should.

Why does everyone know this, but still think the definition of "metabolism" is solely built towards fake weight loss regiments? Bit of a tangent.

I was thinking librewolf sounded nice. Especially with baked in security features. When digging for advice, I've mostly found people still recommending Firefox over the last year, up until recently. Librewolf popped up a few times, though. The seamonkey internet suite seems pretty nice, as well.

The other day, I made a post about Firefox's web extensions, specifically for YouTube. A lot of people pointed out Mozilla's recent TOS update, which pertains to selling personal data. I noticed there were no suggestions, though. What alternative would you suggest, Lemmy?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 week ago

Yeah, your data is the trade away. I'm trying to fork it rn and bake in the extensions.

The number one use of kale up until a couple of decades ago was the same exact thing. I learned that at a place where we lined the salad bar with it.

It's just a single install. But fair point. This allows you to create playlists, though.

I also use it to listen to podcasts/ lore videos without having my screen on when I'm falling asleep. It's also nice for driving. If you make a playlist and have an ad blocker, it WILL continue on to the next song.

I'm actually thinking of forking Firefox and making a lite version mostly geared towards playing YouTube content without ads and without restrictions.

It can be a bit buggy at times, but when it comes to just playing music with the screen locked, it's perfect.

Edit: I forgot to also mention that ad blocker extensions make sailing the seas on mobile much more manageable. Extentions, in general, have been a really nice addition.

Also, here's an entire LP from 2011 that's too "good" to be true: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLHhF7eXU0QSgff5EHhoE3WEy-oM4f_h3t

I added wooden planks to my chicken run's door frame, so mice couldn't get through the gap. Today, I closed my pinky between the door/ pole, chicken wire, and a rough board. The family member that came out to help, brought a drill and revved it a few times. I freaked out and used a marshmallow stick to undo the latch. Also, this is a temporary enclosure for a sick bird.

We have a bobcat. I am scared.

I'm about to finish the new main quest. Just got smacked by someone "cold". I love these quests, the island, the colours. I was already loving perilous moons as well. I hadn't played in a while, and these were perfect additions to help jump back in. I'm also super excited about regen potions. I don't have my cheese cape, so hopefully, the regen will help with switches at the end!

How are you guys enjoying the new content?

I'll never forget his contribution to the fallout community, as well as my childhood.

Sorry for using YT shorts. That was just the original source.

I've never seen a situation like this before. The UAV looks like an RQ-21, but why is it blowing up over a lake in the US? The poster has shared no editional information but seems legit based on their posting history. Does anyone have any explanations?
