Are you building from the tagged release?

Just one small nitpick. When you click posts in the inbox (and maybe other places as well) they don't open in the right pane, they stay in the left.

Already fixed! ^^

it would be great if voyager gets a feature that combines posts with the same links in post list

What clients? I’m curious their implementation. I’ve always been a bit skeptical of this, for things like the same link being posted in cars and fuckcars communities.

There’s an android mode in settings, and any fresh install defaults to the android theme now. However, it’s the older material design because ionic doesn’t support the latest V3 yet..

Material design V2 is fugly. I don’t know how anyone thought it was a good idea lol

If you click the title or post body, it should collapse and scroll to comments. Auto scroll might be cool on open though, is that what you were thinking?

Alexandrite in shambles

I really like Alexandrite :D Voyager will always remain a more touch-oriented UI, vs alexandrite is stronger as a more traditional desktop UI. imho

Glad its working :) There's a few spots left you can click to open a post that should open on the right pane. For example, crossposts. I'll clean these up soon.

It's possible there is a bug, it's a beta! But it should open the post to the right if you tap on one in the feed.

Yes! When you tap a post it should open on the right.

I marked it enabled on "phablets" but still need to test with specific foldables. Hopefully the setting shows up, otherwise lmk, any feedback is welcome!

NOTE: This feature is currently being rolled out to the Apple and Google stores and should be available in the next day or two. However on desktop you can try it out right now (after enabling - see below) at https://vger.app/!

This is currently in BETA, and is turned off by default. On tablets and desktop, you can turn it on in Settings -> Appearance -> Layout. (The setting won't show up on phones.)

The right column is dedicated to viewing a specific post. The left column is for the regular navigation of the app.

Pro tip: On macOS, I recommend adding Voyager to your Dock (https://vger.app/) with Safari's new "Add to Dock" feature! Check out the above screenshot - it's quite slick.

Enjoy and let me know what you think!

Convenience of blocking. Voyager is absolute ass in this regard.

Can you elaborate, what is bad?

[–] [email protected] 6 points 6 days ago

Marking as read is synced to your Lemmy account.

Post hiding in Voyager is saved and managed on device which is why that doesn’t sync. That’s because Lemmy partially supports, but there are missing functions needed to implement in Voyager, such as ability to list hidden posts. That will probably come in Lemmy 1.0.

Sorting upvoted by date voted is a bug in lemmy that I reported a while back, should be fixed in v1 https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/4499

Regarding your app being killed a lot, that sounds like a bug in your OS or perhaps limited hardware? What phone are you using, and what OS? Also, do you have enough free memory?

I'm curious what you Android users think of the Android vs Apple theme for the Voyager app.

  • Which one do you prefer?
  • Which one do you think should be the default for new/novice users? Why?

This would be the default, but don't worry, you will always be able to choose. I would also like to note that in the future Voyager will have a Material 3 theme, but not yet!

Thanks for your help!

Edit: thanks everyone for the feedback. I think I’ll probably make android the default theme on android for new users.

Hey there!

I just published Voyager's new promo site at https://getvoyager.app/. This site is intended to be an easy way to share the app with your friends and family. Let me know what you think! I'm hoping to roll out a couple more improvements to user onboarding soon™️, so stay tuned.

In other news, I hope you like the latest app update! ICYMI: the video player was significantly revamped, you can now upload videos (assuming lemmy instance support: keep reading...), and Android users can now long press links to preview the url, as well as for share/copy/open options.

https://github.com/aeharding/voyager/releases/tag/2.26.0

Speaking of videos: If you've ever wondered why videos sometimes fail to play in iOS, it's because many Lemmy instances are misconfigured. Please share this site I just published with your Lemmy admin to help debug issues: https://aeharding.github.io/lemmy-streaming Around 50% of instances are misconfigured 😳 so I really appreciate your help on getting the word out to admins! 🫡

I've feel like I've used Plex forever. I also feel like every couple years I try Jellyfin to see how it's going. Recently I tried it again because of Plex restriction on more than one user.

Well, I just tried it again and it's substantially improved! This time it actually properly detected most of my library!

Also the Android TV app is AWESOME! No more glitches, lagging, and freezing trying to play my stuff like Plex did. It is butter smooth.

Wow! I'm impressed and I just deleted Plex. Good riddance.

Hi everyone!

2025 is here, and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on Voyager for Lemmy.

  • What features would you like to see added to Voyager in 2025?
  • Are there any bugs or issues that are bothering you?

💜

Voyager F-droid/Github/Standalone releases on lemmyapps.com say last updated 9 months ago, but that's not right

Hello!

I’ve updated Voyager’s build and release process to automatically include new fixes and features in test builds.

iOS users have always had TestFlight, and now Android users can join testing through Google Play Open Testing:

👉 Google Play Open Testing

I’m looking for Android testers! If you’re okay with occasional bugs and want to help out and report issues on Github, I’d be grateful.

P.S. Also new: For PWA users, you can now test updates here:
👉 beta.vger.app

Thank you!

I've been getting a few messages about blurry images from lemmy.ml users due to lemmy v0.19.6. I rolled out a fix yesterday; it is in all stores except F-droid (will probably be there in a few days)

In other more exciting news, user tags is almost here! Stay tuned!

  1. Fitted sheet must have label on bottom right seam
  2. Salted butter wrapping text must be red. Unsalted blue.
