No one is waiting for them to do the right thing. People are waiting for their "but this affects me!" moments to eat away enough of his support to make moves feasible.

You know what I get super tired of? The fucking fatalism that seems so popular to pop off with in the hopes of a couple little updoots to make oneself feel better about the situation. It isn't helpful. You are allowed, I can't stop y'all, but I am exhausted by it.

It is called regulation in sane parts of the world.

Sadly, those areas seem to be diminishing rapidly until more people enter the Find Out phase.

Conservatives don't care what's true, they govern off vibes.

Well, here is a perfect vibe check: y'all feel like most people you know are financially all set? Not worried about work or a sudden medical expense? How's it feeling out there?

Does it feel like Trump and his billionaire boys club are helping you?

Union up! LFG!

Remember Pizzagate?

It's always projection with conservatives. We keep seeing it over and over. When will we believe them?

Your sense of history is brutally stunted.

Because conservatives have been gutting education every chance they get throughout history. 🤷‍♂️

By helping eject from those systems. There's lots of cool open source projects based on all sorts of different hardware. And you can self-host some bits and pieces of your digital life if you really feel motivated to.

I don't know if it's much help but I never said it would solve all the things you seem to want it to. There are some alternatives out there for people feeling trapped by big tech, I'm just trying to share a small piece of that.

Maybe we disagree on the kinds of technological problems society needs to solve. 🤷‍♂️

Ok, but the solution is super easy, low cost, and right in front of you. Pick up a Raspberry Pi if you want to go even cheaper. If you are uncomfortable with electronics, you can still piece together a bunch of cool stuff just using USB as your interface of choice.

Also, 10" mini racks are cool.

Lots of cool stuff happening in tech if you look outside of the big corporations.

[Jury Nullification] is when the jury in a criminal trial gives a verdict of not guilty even though they think a defendant has broken the law. The jury's reasons may include the belief that the law itself is unjust

Until the wealthy and powerful are held to account, why punish your fellow everyday citizens? Use your brain. Decide if what they're charging people with is suppression or actually keeping society safe.

When those prosecutors start losing these cases, maybe they will start to rethink who they are focusing on.

... at least how it'd be for me.
