My two cents is that most former presidents should be silent. Especially Biden.

The one who shouldn't is Obama, the only former president who is actually viewed favorably in America.

Diet lemon-lime soda.

I think cold balkanization is both the most likely and most optimistic scenario.

I'm curious why you think it's most likely. Most optimistic, I agree.

I'd go further and say most Americans outside the Southeast US think they don't have accents. This is the only time the Southeast has ever topped the charts on anything involving intelligence.

I guarantee you that most of those pizza arguments are between two Americans. Maybe the odd one that features an Italian.

I agree in regards to whites only spaces, but men's only spaces have apolitical reasons to exist (just as not all of the reasons for women's only spaces to exist are political.) The experience of being male is just different and sometimes some people just need space to discuss.

I'm of the opinion that retrospective Obama love represents missing normalcy more than actual Obama, even if not everybody realizes that.

This right here, this is why so much of the initial reaction to Trump winning was resignment. You can't have the pedal all the way down 24/7 for NINE FUCKING YEARS and not experience burnout. Not to mention, how doomscrolling can delude you into thinking it's doing something. It's not, and unlike doomscrollers, football fans (REGARDLESS of which "football" it is) know damn well it does nothing about world problems.

Never with "everyday" purchases. The two times it happened to me were a VST plugin and a game engine license.

(I'm also in the US with a nonwhite name.)

Yes, Ireland or Canada. And I'd consider a move back if I saw a pattern of behaviour that I could call a sound rejection of fascism.

There's no way someone like me has that opportunity though.

The US wasn't run by Nazis in 1939 though. The same (rather popular) guy who was President in 1939 was President in 1941.

It's very possible Germany becomes run by Nazis again.
