My take on it is there's more downside doing the facial scan than opting out. The worst case is the scan can miss-identify you and then you get pulled aside for questioning. The worst case for opting out is raising suspicion with an agent? Sure all the security cameras could be doing facial recognition and come up with false positives, but why add another opportunity to be misidentified by doing the scan?

It also takes longer for the scan. I was with a group and figured I'd hold everyone up so positioned myself last, and it was 2 seconds to hand them my ID. The only way this the scan is more convenient is for people who don't care to pull out their ID or are too timid to say "no facial"

Maybe you can check the manual if the laptop has a CMOS battery. If it does, you'll have to take apart the laptop to remove the battery for a few minutes, which will reset all the settings.

Are CMOS batteries still a thing? Removing that and the laptop battery should wipe the BIOS to the default settings. Actually before that, can you reset the BIOS settings with the admin password, and will that wipe the user password settings?

Molecules of water? hair follicles? Grains of rice?

There are web browser addons which can change the export to a png, but if all else fails, imagemagick after saving the image takes less time than screenshotting and cropping.

This isn't me shilling the card, but I guess it's 15% off on your first purchase or day of having the card? That being said, the rewards are best buy points so that does limit things.

https://www.bestbuy.com/site/misc/financing-rewards/pcmcat102500050032.c?id=pcmcat102500050032

15% back in rewards: *Offer valid 6/2/25–7/6/25. Get 2.5 points per $1 spent (5% back in rewards) on qualifying Best Buy purchases when you choose Standard Credit with your My Best Buy® Credit Card. If you apply and are approved for a new My Best Buy Credit Card, your first day of purchases on the Credit Card using Standard Credit within the first 14 days of account opening will get an additional 5 bonus points (an additional 10% back in rewards, for a total of 15%).

I think the rewards are in best buy points, which is something I guess but not 15% cash back

Also in this scene, why was there an empty spot in the grid for the robot to blend into? If it took the place of another robot, what did it do with the remains of the other robot without time. A lot of "don't think about it too much" in this movie.

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. There are people who can help you if you're having thoughts of suicide, unless you're Stephen Miller.

If they market it properly, maybe they could make it work? Call it a Gayover and have some baggage holding service so people can dance and let go without having to worry about their stuff

I've recently switched to Thunder from Sync, but am surprised that there's not an option to resize tall images to the display size. When opening an image in full screen, it does this, but not in the feed or when opening a post. Basically this would be an option in between card view and full height imagea, for images which are taller than the display window.

This is an egregious example, but this post takes up so much of the feed when full height images is set. Also, I'm not sure about most instances, but they seem to resize the thumbnail aggressively on tall posts, so even if full height images without resizing is your preference, the quality looks terrible anyway, and you're forced to click into the post to see the full size image.

Anyway, maybe I'm missing some settings, but this behavior seems like something someone else would have wanted, but I don't see it as a setting.

Today, Celine Dion's management team and her record label, Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc., became aware of the unauthorized usage of the video, recording, musical performance, and likeness of Celine Dion singing "My Heart Will Go On" at a Donald Trump /JD Vance campaign rally in Montana. In no way is this use authorized, and Celine Dion does not endorse this or any similar use. ..And really, THAT song?

I didn't realize this was the season finale before watching and was mostly confused that was it after tonight's episode. Seems like they started more loose ends in that one episode, maybe in hope of another season, but it felt like it could have used an episode or two more to set that up better. Spoilers below:

The Acolyte - Episode 8 Season Finale Discussion Spoilers

  • I kept expecting the Green Jedi woman to ultimately be behind the destruction of the witches fortress. It still doesn't make sense that the stone structure could sustain so much damage from some paper burning. Maybe bad editing or something in the previous episodes, but seems like there's still a side of a story being withheld.
  • Reveal of Yoda (or yaddle before growing hair!) and who I assume is Plagueis was underwhelming. Either could have been omitted without issue. If they were going for fan service, focus on one. If it is Plagueis, does the timeline even make sense??
  • Honestly, I wish there were more episodes with the Lesbian Witch Cult which weren't all flashbacks. That conflict with the Jedi was interesting (for the two days it happened in universe) and could have explored more of that side of the force before it was killed off. I guess I'm in the minority based on the backlash that received.
  • Kung fu and lightsaber battles were pretty good. Is this the first time in live action a jedi has turned off a lightsaber mid fight? I think out of everything, the choreography was the strongest aspect of the series.

What'd everyone else think?
