And yet, Israel has practically dictated US Foreign Policy in the Middle East, which is a theater of conflict in which everyone is playing, including China.

As already discussed in another comment, scheme does not have a devious meaning in non-American English.

Am I the only one who cannot manage to feel sympathetic towards elves in any fantasy? In LOTR even the Uruk-hai see more of my sympathy than, say, Legolas.

I know though that I am not fantasy literature material. The only fantasy movie I like is Dragonslayer and I really never could finish a fantasy book.

He cherry-picks the Nazi stuff even in Asimov.

That's why I subscribe to [email protected] That is the message that should sent about the drift we are experiencing.

The OCM is my favorite, especially because it is expendable both when confronting fascists and the others (for their inaction, masked as good will).

If GabeN is against it, I better comply fast! Thanks for the heads up!

Given access to the right data, even just the first 2 bits would narrow it down a lot.

As a European, the only information I have about Chipotle is that makes you shit greasy and greatly. Sounds like something straight out of Idiocracy from here.

Yes, it is a transitional dual boot setup. Will be trying to pass to exFAT as suggested elsewhere for working on both. Then when I will figure out what hardware would be most compatible, I will eventually remove the dual boot and fix things accordingly.

Thanks, I'll try the formatting thing asap.

Does it save me from the risk of filenames including colons etc that others were talking about?

I am going to specify in the body of the post that this is a drive I used as library drive only for Steam, it is not the one holding the Windows boot.

Would that change things?

Disclaimer: I am very new to Linux (1 week).

I have installed the Valve version of Steam on LMDE6. I have used Disks to automatically mount the NTFS drive I used with Windows (doesn't hold bootloader, it is just for Steam library storage) at boot ( /media/[username]/Gaming ) and I made it the default library folder in Steam.

Running games works perfectly (actually, performance is surprisingly good), but I cannot install them due to a "disk write error".

I looked for solutions and found this page, from which I understand that I need to change permissions to the mounting point, but when I do, using chown -R, I get a "Read-only filesystem" error for all files and folders.

I can see no options to fix this in Disks and I tried to edit fstab once, but it messed things up so badly I had to use the USB drive with the portable installer to fix things.

I mean, sure, it's not as population dense as the USA, or Mexico, but Canada is huge, your people are nice, you have some of the best entertainment companies on the planet (namely Cirque du Soleil and Pornhub), your natural resources and attractions are unbelievable and your actors are the best (especially the BSG/Chronicles of Riddick cast).

And yet, as an Italian with an international perspective (lived abroad for the last 16 years and visited the USA and South America repeatedly), I have been not "Canada-aware" for most of my life.

I get it that you are not boasting like your neighbors (and that alone makes you better than them imho), but how come that I was left to realize only today that the Manitoba flour I used to make pizza all my life takes its name from one of your provinces, while I know about all the shitty pizzas the US made up in a century.

Same thing goes for Latin American countries, even the ones I never visited, like Mexico or Argentina.

I shall visit soon and I hope you can take the chance to teach me more in the meanwhile.

I asked on Mastodon a few minutes ago if Alternativeto.net was going to add any country fields or badges in order to make it easier for users like us to choose and already got this answer! Feel free to go boost favorite/boost their answer here.

Playing for the first time and I chose the corpo and loving the style so much when walking in the city center. I am not talking about the more military stuff like Arasaka guards, but rather the kind of outfit sported by Meredith Stout and the Peralez.

I tried to look for people involved in that specific character design on ArtStation, but there seem to be none, and anyway I don't know if it would be possible for me to come in contact with them.

I bought these antennas to connect with my wifi card, an Intel Killer AX1690i.

Here you can see a picture of the antenna connector and the Wi-Fi card. I paid special attention in making sure the description on the antenna stated it was compatible with Intel M.2 cards.

I am having a surprisingly tough time connecting them, currently to no avail, so I would like to know if I am doing anything wrong, if I was sent the right product, if you have any tips etc.

I need to add Wifi and Bluetooth connectivity to my PC which is built on an ASROCK Phantom Gaming D5 mobo. Before buying I checked on this resource from ASROCK website and the adapter is meant to be fully compatible and a specification of a 2T2R antenna is matching it (which I until now assumed would be an internal feature.

I installed the adapter and the latest drivers and the device is recognized as both a Bluetooth device and a Wi-Fi adapter, but:

  • Wi-Fi, although technically working (on 802.11ac) is extremely sluggish, de facto unusable.
  • Bluetooth is not recognizing any devices when in discovery.

The Motherboard Manual (page 11) states that there are 3 x Antenna Mounting Points on the Rear panel, which I think I have identified as 3 holes to be punched out from the panel, but then I would not know how to proceed.

Would the installation of an external set of antennas likely solve the problem? If so, how do I choose one and how do I install it?
